On the penny auction site DFWBID, at random times during auctions there is a ‘Penny Buy’ option. ‘Penny Buy’ is a chance for a bidder to obtain the item for 1 penny, along with the credits they spent to be able to bid on the auction.

The ‘Penny Buy’ feature randomly appears once for 5 minutes during an auction. For example, it can appear at the beginning, middle, end of the day. The user is open to use the ‘Penny Buy’ feature as many times as they want for the duration that it is enabled. The first bidder to answer 2 multiple choice questions correctly wins the auction item for a penny.”
Karen Brown was bidding on two floor seats for a Jonas Brothers concert valued at $190, she clicked on the ‘Penny Buy” button and a math question popped up, she answered the question and won Jonas Brother’s tickets for $0.01.
According to DFWBID you join an auction for 3 credits and all bids are free, you can bid an unlimited amount of times. The winner is the highest bidder at the end of an auction OR the winner of the ‘Penny Buy.’ When you win an item you are required to pay the final price of the item and shipping.
