Penny Purses Breaking a Record Tonight?

coach brown purse

Update: The auction ended with 1,411 bids. Not quite their record but almost.

Penny Purses told us that it  looks like Penny Purses could be breaking their record  tonight. Hmm. The most bids ever received on a handbag on Penny Purses is 1,691. The designer purse penny auction has already received 828 bids, 400+ of which were received before the auction for their Chocolate Multi Signature Zip Satchel Coach handbag even started.

I've only seen them get this many bids one other time, and that bag went for $10.75 I believe. Usually they end at under $5.

why would anyone bid before the auction has started? this pennypurses site must be a scam. not that many people would be that stupid to bid before the clock has only 10 seconds left because they would only be outbid.

Don't waste your time. The owners were sellers of fakes on Ebay…you won't receive anything real. Pay for bidding? Hello, you pay, they profit – if you win – you're the loser.

Stay away from this site – far away!

Chris – people bid before the auction really starts on other sites for big ticket items like on RockyBid. I've seen people bidding on TV's days in advance. People do it likely to show their interest in the particular item or because they hope some fluke will occur and they'll get lucky and not be outbid. Whatever the reason, it happens other places and does not mean it's a scam by any means.

To sue above: Can you please explain where you are getting this information? We don't even have an account on eBay. And all of our bags are authentic.

But it seems, you always have critics, and it's quite amusing to hear of stories like these, and can only imagine why or how someone would post misinformation like this.

Any questions or comments in regards to the 100% authenticity of our bags can be verified! Please send us an email if you have any questions.

Sue, that's ridiculous! I have bid on pennypurses and won many auctions at great prices. The shipping is super fast (ships next day), and is free. And penny auctions basically all work by having you pay for bids…thats not unusual.

It's a great site, but feel free to pass up the great purses – we dont care for extra competition anyway 🙂

Yeah, the purses are great! However, you are not getting a purse for anywhere close to pennies. You end up spending hundreds of dollars on bids to be bid out every time. I really don't think you end up with a good eal in the end. Yeah, you may be paying $3.58 for a COACH purse, but you've already spent $300 in bids. Kind of ridiculous….

On a side note, I've bid and bid and bid and waited until the last minute to find the auction "miraculously" end with no reason. It's kind of strange. Is there a magical cut off or something? There have been a number of times I've attempted to bid immediately following the notice of "LAST CHANCE" and find out the auction has closed. Some kind of last chance…more like no chance.

I have won several auctions (scapril) and, while it is true that you can spend lots of money bidding before a successful win, I know from my experience that you can also win with only a few bids. The white Michael Korrs that I won only took about a dozen bids.

LOL you should try being the highest bidder when that last chance button appears. It seems like it stays up there for 30 minutes.

Interesting because I was the high bidder on a "rookie" purse to only have it come back with another bidder swooping in at a last chance then the clock showed me with 4 seconds left on the clock and not accept another bid from me. Obviously six seconds had lapsed and I should have been allowed to bid. I have attempted many times to only to have my bids not accept or bid not received and another buy is done. This is a faulty system to say the least. I can see it future bidders that win or bidders that have lots invested. My thought is bids are not received when you have not paid enough.

To everyone who has slandered Pennypurses.com:

you couldn't be more wrong. I have only been a member of this website for a week and already I have won 2 AUTHENTIC coach purses. Yes, they are authentic, I took the first one to the coach store in the Hulen mall and asked to have the associate look at it; it is real.

the first purse I won cost me about 15 bids (the bids cost 8$ for 10 and you get 5 free for signing up) and the end price of the purse was 6$. so all in all I spent 16$ on a 300$ purse.

the second purse I won with 2 bids, end price 1.12$

you can believe whatever you want, but don't spread lies and bad PR about something just becasue you don't like it.

also, to the people who think that you end up spending "hundreds" to win: the only people who spend hundreds on bids are the people who don't understand the site, or the people who refuse to lose.

but like miss mariposa said, feel free to stay away from the site, we don't want the competition!
