DDOS LINCOLNBIDZ

LincolnBidz re-opened tonight only to get taken down within an hour. They are suspecting a DDoS attack.

Since so many penny auction sites have been receiving DDoS attacks here’s a brief video explaining ( in non-technical terms) what a Distributed-Denial-of-Service (DDoS) attack is.

But LincolnBidz? It just doesn't make any sense to me, its not like they're an established, successful site. The problems people were reporting within a few minutes after they opened were the same problems they had when they shut down before, ie – the ability to place bids after an auction is closed, auto bidder not working properly…just doesn't seem like DDoS related issues to me. And if a hacker has heard of LincolnBidz doesn't it make sense that they have heard of bigger sites that are generating more income? Why aren't those sites ever (or only rarely) attacked? Yet LincolnBidz is hit within minutes of opening.

Maybe I'm just not understanding all this but it just seems implausible to me. If something overloaded their network my guess would be it was Proto and btw throttle bidding each other…after all, that is the auction that broke the site. Again, I do not know anything about hacking or any of this stuff, so please forgive my ignorance if I am just being…ignorant.

This is the $7.95 pirated Feisty Sites software. Stay well away!

So they use auction software that cost 8 bucks and wonder why they have problems? I feel bad for them but if they're only willing to spend $8 on their software then I don't think I'll be spending any money with them. They'll likely ALWAYS have problems with $8 software.
