RockyBid will be having another beta test tonight! Hopefully with your help they will be back up in running soon. Here’s the message from RockyBid:

logo 2.0

Good news Rocky Bidders (well, sort of), we are going to put up some auctions this evening for another short BETA test. So here is another chance to win some more stuff for next to nothing. Once again whatever bids you use will be reversed after the BETA test (even if you are the winner). Please stay tuned to www.RockyBid.com

For being so loyal and sticking with us through all this here’s a cookie starting now as auctions could go up at any moment. The first auctions will be closing at around 10:00PM Eastern Time tonight December 8th.

What will Rockybid.com be testing?
Good question, we will be focusing primarily on the complete process of bidding. Meaning, we want you to go through the bidding process, register for an account if you don’t have one, activate your account if you need to,  use your bids, buy more bids, use a bid buddy, win an item, pay for the item, receive the item.

Wait what!?! Win the item and receive it?
That’s right, items won during the beta test including the featured auction of a Nintendo Wii, will be sent to the winner if he/she chooses to pay for regardless of glitches. All items have a flat shipping fee of $0.50 and the final value of the item. No credits from previous auctions will be applied. Winners will have 12 hours to complete their purchases so we can compile the data. Won items will not take up a slot on the limits page when we go live.

*please note that some items will be marked with an incorrect value. I.e. an item can be marked with a value of over $200 when it is clearly not. We did so deliberately in order to simulate an actual auction of that value and test the auction limits.

But what if I don’t win?
Not to worry, after the conclusion of the final BETA test auction, and shipment of won items we will be reversing all auctions and crediting the bids to all of our participants including the winner. If you purchased a bid package during the beta test you will retain all the new bids when we go live. We will not be refunded the money for the bid packages purchased.

That sounds great! How do I become an unofficial, unpaid, temporary employee of Rockybid.com?
It does sound great, doesn’t it?
It’s simple! All you have to do is log in like you’re used to doing and bid like its business as usual.  We ask that if you come across lag or errors of any kind that you open a ticket and let us know; telephone support will not be available during the beta test. Keep in mind we are aware that some of the peripheral links like the testimonial and rewards pages may not be working (if they are not essential to the bidding and or purchasing process do not worry about it).

Hua? This looks a lot like the old RockyBid?

Let us explain. As you all know we have had a difficult couple of months, an entire quarter in-fact. First we were doing so well that some confused us with rock stars, got jealous and decided to attack us. There were DDOS attacks, spit-ball fights, pranks and even a foiled assassination attempt (can’t comment on the details). That, coupled with some bugs that come up from time to time prompted us to launch RockyBid 2.0 a bit hastily. Unfortunately, as much as we tried to push it, RockyBid 2.0 just isn’t ready. We ran several alpha and beta tests and all we did is prove that it will be awesome BUT it needs more work.

So enough waiting! We humbly give back to you the old RockyBid, with a new skin and a few minor improvements. It now runs on an all-new, super hero class, uber-server. There are a number of performance and limitation improvements to go with that, for example NO MORE LIMITS on your BidBuddy.

It’s better than the original RockyBid 1.0 but it’s nothing close to RockyBid 2.0 so we’re calling this RockyBid 1.5 (1.445874 to be exact).

Most of you have been amazingly loyal and wonderful and we truly appreciate it. We hope that you all continue to use RockyBid for your online entertainment shopping and continue giving us your feedback.

And of course, stay tuned for RockyBid 2.0 coming soon.
