If you read our “Requesting an Explanation” post you will see where all of this started and how we can tell that there are users bidding that do not have e-mail addresses, well now in the forum Bidash.com’s representative has posted the following, on March 16th:
“Now i am going to clear a few things up and address some issues.
Ok as i mentioned i am not the owner of Bidash. I was hired to promote the new company online and get the word out.
After reading this thread about the autobidders/shill bidders i spoke to them about the difference. I was under the understanding that autobidding was when you place a set price and amount of bids that you are willing to spend and they would go automaticlly. After doing some research that is proven to be true and accepted. Now the shillbidders, where there is a bot involved is a different story.
When i spoke to them this morning they admitted to me for using bots during beta testing and they used reserve prices on two large ticket products (macbook and 40 in lcd tv)
They explained to me that they were under the impression from the their research done, that this was a standard procedure and that ALL penny auctions do this so minimal loss is taken on large products.Auto bidders where Only used during the beta testing of the website. If you are unaware of penny auction scripts, 99% of penny auction scripts Have autobidders to their disposal. If the script doesn’t come with one out of the box, it costs about $200 to have a coder make one for you. Which sites uses them and which don’t is another issue.
After speaking to them, both of these products have been removed from the auction and Every Bid that was placed on these products from users have been refunded.
Every other product on Bidash is being bid on by real users and have not had 1 complaint about anything so far.”
Well a quick look at their auctions today, using firebug, will show you that there are bidders without e-mail addresses associated to their account bidding against bidders that have e-mail addresses. Notice the the e-mail address of the iPhone winner: dsjkfhds@dsjgbhdif.com, did this user actually confirm their account with this address?
Also, take a look at Bidash.com’s terms & conditions:
If a Member for any reason disputes any charge from PayPal or Bidash.com the Member will be deemed in breach of this contract and will be subject to fines of $500 per hour that the amount is disputed with PayPal and the complaint is live up to a maximum of $5000.00. The $500 per hour starts the minute the dispute is filed and continues until the breach is fixed. The amount of the fine becomes due immediately and will be turned over to a collection agency if not paid within 10 day.

If you are running a legitimate auction site, there is absolutely no reason why your software ("script") should have a bot/shill bidder capability. I am not talking about automatic bidding capability that a user can set, such as BidRodeo's BidBuddy. I mean software which is designed explicitly for placing shill bids which directly compete with the users of a site. The only possibly use of such an ability is to cheat your users. All sites do not have this ability. It is not a standard practice to place fake bids against your users. Doing so is plainly scamming your users. Running a site using software that has this ability is highly suspicious.

I was so impressed with this penny auction site and the numbers that they were doing i decided to buy them. lol little extreme i know but i think it will work well
So now for sure the site will be 100% legit. I feel like i have a pretty good reputation within the arcade industry and think that this will help build the trust for the site.
I currently closed the site down for 2 weeks to switch servers and work on a few things.

I used this site also. All item were delivered as promised. I loooked at this article to findout who wrote it no name mmmmmmm. I guess they have bots writing article now. There is not one name of any owner of record on a media site. No one takes credit for all these articles.

Hi My name is Alan and I am the new owner of Bidash. My wife and I purchased this site and re-opened it at the end of June. Since, we have been slowly trying to make a few changes to the site to make it fair as well as fun. Recently we just implemented some limit changes that we were not able to do before. We are also in the process of streamlining the checkout process for the users. We are hoping to have that down over the weekend. Next on our plate we will be looking at installing a buy it now feature but that may be a few weeks away depending on what our programmer says. If you have not tried the site out lately, we would love to see you around and have you experience it under the new management.
