hey guys! this website is pure scam!! i'm not sure about the other nicknames but Pdxbaby is a bot in that website.. i notice, coz they have no autobid. yet everytime i press bid, pdxbaby will pop up and bid after me. and in other closed auctions, 30 bids will stop at 1.06 or something and now going until 2.00. everytime i press bid, every different nickname will pop up after me. i bid at diff times. at 5 secs, last sec, 13 sec, etc. every time i press, there'll be someone popping up. its a total scam. u'll never win.

    Hi teph,

We can assure you that Fashion Bay does not use ‘bots’ to drive up auction prices. Bid activity varies due to factors such as time of day and items being sold, and all bids are placed by actual users not affiliated with Fashion Bay in any way.

You may notice an influx of bids (some from users who haven’t yet bid on the item) at the last minute because that’s when bids count the most.

If you have any other questions or concerns, please feel free to email us at customerservice@fashionbay.com.

Fashionbay is awful. Unlike Ebay when the clock ticks down to 15 seconds and someone bids it bounces the clock back up to 15 seconds. I signed up as a new customer but am very dissapointed. Why keep the clock going back to 15 sec and you say so people get a chance to bid. People get a chance to bid without this game. Money being charged for each bid is just part of it. Fairness is to let the time go in as you stated in the ad not keep bouncing back to the 15 secs. Be fair maybe. See ya.

This is pure genius for the founders of fashion bay! They are making a killing! Consider this…. A $100 gift card won by someone for a price of $3.00 may sound like a TOTAL DEAL! It is if the person who won it only bid ONCE. Not likely… If they bid 50 times before winning the auction they actually ended up paying more than $40 for that gift card. Still not a bad deal, but what about the other bidders who also bid 50 times? They spent $40 and got nothing! Absolutely nothing! Fashionbay has taken an auction idea and combined it with a slot machine idea and voila! Instant money maker! So how does fashionbay make their $$$$$? Well take that $3.00 gift card as an example. Each cent of that item is equivalent to $0.80 going into some dork's pockets watching from the comfort of their homes as fools drive up the price of each item. Notice that fashionbay is closed during hours when most of the US is sleeping…. Thats because chances are there wont be enough people bidding on their items during the late hours which would result in a loss of profit! Brilliant! Another brilliant idea is the fact that they give you 100% money back! If you happen to win a $600 gucci bag for $7.00 of course they will give you your money back! They get their product back and get to keep all of the money that people paid trying to win that item. Then they probably go and repost that item and make another killing off of suckers willing to bid! Im so jealous I didnt think of this brilliant idea.

SCAM!! i think they're bots on that site…I bought 50 bids and lost all of them without winning anything! I kept bidding every 15secs on an item and the same weird name keeps popping up…I really think it's a bot!

Hi, I'm loving fashion bay but I too am suspecting bots. There is one user "aceskye" that keeps driving up the prices of bids, that in itself wouldn't be suspicious if it weren't for the fact that the user is using much more bids than the bid package is! Either this is a bot or someone with no concept of the site. Which would be impossible because the user has won several auctions. No bots? Well then maybe there should be a 30 day limit on the number of bid packages one user could win because something is certainly "off."

I also would like to add that I am not sure of all of the user names but one more to watch out for is "LABradley03" who appears to be helping drive up "aceskye"s bids. Just pay attention to suspicious activity on any bidding website because there's always a possibility of corruption EVEN IF the site owners may not be aware of it.

I am LABradley03 on this site and I can assure you I am no bot. In fact, I came here to complain about "aceskye!" this person seems to have far more bids than the packages are worth. I think at this point I'm so frustrated with "aceskye" that I have bid just to see if it's even possible to win anything. And clearly it isn't. I've spent hundreds of dollars (unfortunately) buying these bids and it's a lost cause. I don't think the bid helper or whatever it's called is fair. People who are bidding in REAL TIME should be allowed to bid! Not those who have the system set up to bid for them!

Last night i watched ACESKYE take a 75 bid package deal from 1.00 to 10.00!!! he was bidding from the start .. if it goes up 1 penny a bid, then he did roughly 50 bids every dollar it went up… which means he spent 500 bids to win 75?!? I watched the entire time just to prove my point … TOTAL SCAM! think about it…. who's to stop them from having tons of fake names, theres no system in place except their word… if they have unlimited bids(since its their site) , they win everything except a few just to get a few people saying its real… which they can afford to do because they are making a FORTUNE on this site!!

  • Katie July 28, 2010, 12:03 pm

.. wow .. imagine that, aceskye just won ANOTHER 75 bid package, that he took from 1 to 4 bucks, still spent more then they won…. I have never seen that name lose, that is just very impractical … Not to mention they seem to always be on the site… now that heat is going on around aceskye, who knows what the next name they use will be, but I dont buy it and dont want to see any other people lose money making this scam site rich either!

    Hello all!

First, I want to reiterate that we do not use bots to drive up auction prices. All of our bidders are real people. We frequently have auctions go for mere pennies.

Our win limits are as follows:

    – Items: 3 within a 24 hour period for a total of 6 items within a 30 day period

    – Bid packages: 3 within a 24 hour period. We do not have a monthly limit on bid packages.

As we are not responsible for how Aceskye bids, we cannot comment on his or her strategy. S/he is within the win limits, since our system automatically prevents bidders from bidding once they've reached this limit.

The best advice we CAN give is to watch auctions closely and monitor the interest in each item. Start small and work your way up. Note the 'slow' periods in a day, or a week, as your chances of winning during these periods are better.

We understand it can be frustrating to put money in only to lose, but we have many happy return customers who've learned how to win using the above advice.

If you have any additional questions, please email us at customerservice@fashionbay.com.

We hope to see all of you back at Fashion Bay!

I'd like to hear from these "happy customers." And as for Fashion Bay's advice "to watch auctions closely and monitor the interest in each item. Start small and work your way up. Note the ’slow’ periods in a day, or a week, as your chances of winning during these periods are better," when are the "slow" periods if the same person bids all day long and wins everything?

I'd also like to state that Aceskye won ANOTHER package today. Personally I'd like to hear from Aceskye and see what he/she has to say. I have noticed that he/she is bidding on other sites and tends to win A LOT! So, my question is – who has all day to sit at their computer and bid?

    • auctionwatcher July 29, 2010, 9:26 am

Like I said, we believe Aceskye is a real bidder, a lot of bidders will spend more on items than the value. Join our forum to learn more!

We've won & received items from FashionBay as well, like any penny auction site you do need to watch and form your own strategy, if someone bids alot it's not always good to go against them, but really depends! And yes, users do spend a lot of time bidding on sites! Good luck

  • Labradley03 July 30, 2010, 4:12 am

I have one other thing that I've noticed here. Aceskye only bids on bid packages. He/she never wins the real items like purses, gift cards, etc. So, why would someone want more bids if they aren't going to use them for a larger item?

    Reply
  • Fashion Bay July 30, 2010, 4:46 am

To clarify, our users are limited to 3 bid package wins within a 24 hour period: 12 am to 12 am the next day, or a full calendar day. Aceskye has always been within these limits, as our system automatically bans users from bidding once they've reached the daily or monthly limit(s).

We're currently gathering testimonials from our satisfied customers to feature on Fashion Bay, so stay tuned! We hope to feature both written and video testimonials to assure new bidders of our legitimacy.

It is important that we keep all of our bidders as happy as possible, so if you have any questions or suggestions, please send them to us at customerservice@fashionbay.com and we'll take them into consideration.

    Thanks,

I'd just like to comment that 1) I think your site has much potential, and 2) you need to decrease the limit of wins for bid packages. That's fine if you don't want to include them in the 6 total limit a month, but 3 a day make is very discouraging for others to bid against them, as people have stated above. I think limiting bid packages to 1 a day would help – plus, when I see aceskye only bidding on bid package, I only think s/he is stockpiling bids for when his/her monthly limit is up and is going to go crazy against the other items. Thanks!

Hello! I wanted to comment here as someone who has watched FashionBay and has won several items, including a Louis Vuitton handbag. Once the bag was shipped to me and in my possession, I took it into a LV store here in my town and had them verify it was authentic. The salesladies said without a doubt it was authentic. It also came in a LV box, with its dustbag, and with the tags. I have had nothing but positive experiences here – probably because I fully understand how this site works. Good luck to each of you!

I have been on Fashion Bay since april and i have won several gift cards, and a couple of Louis Vuitton items, everything has come and is legit. Some have taken over 3 weeks to get here, and others a week, just depends. I too have questioned a couple of bidders, of course Aceskye is one the other is Try2keepup, it seems they bid on all the bid packages, and it doesn't matter how much they spend. I can never figure out why someone would use 3oo or more bids to win a 75 bid pack, i know i have gotten caught up in it, but i ususually come to my senses before i have used up that many bids, and the reason i bid on bid packs, is so i can get enough to bid on a gift card or a purse. I never see them bid on anything but bid packs Why???

    Hello all!

We at Fashion Bay wanted to let you know that we have recently put a limit on bid package wins. As of last Saturday, we have limited each user to a total of eight bid packages per 30 days. This should give more users a better chance to win items.

If you have any questions or comments about our new policy, please email us at customerservice@fashionbay.com.

I would like to comment on the what some of the other bidders are talking about. on player Aceskye ,

Bidding does take alot of money and if your in it for the long run, sometimes you look past I guess. And their are times when you have to say stop.

The players someone said "Try to keep up , that's a real person I believe, I have seen that name on another web site, But the bidders "Aceskye and Dkny, I am not sure, but those two especially Aceskye wins alot and I mean alot of bid packages , and with the win limits, I did see to that in 24 hr period that Aceskye won again either 75 or 100 bid package and that's with the old rule and the new bid packages that you allowed to win. And I have seen that person Aceskye spend more then the 75 pkg is worth, I believe so that nobody else could bid on it. so although he/she lost 200 bids on 75 bid pkg, it was made back up in a day or so.Basically that person is making sure nobody can win bid pkg.One day I bought 200 pkg and bid against Aceskye , just to test it out and I counted Aceskye out bid my 200 bids and spent another 100 more bids to win 100 bid package , and that didn't make sense.

I basically wanted to see how many bids Aceskye had and I realized then that person isn't bidding to win bid packages it's to make sure nobody can win 75 or 100 packages. funny huh. Dkny bids and wins alot more on 50 and 75 pk.

sometimes the 100 but nearly not the same as our friend Aceskye.

I have seen blogs on other sites regarding this, and at first I thought it was jealousy and saw losers , honestly that happens, but I saw the wins since March/April and August on Aceskye bid package wins and it's exorbitant amount of 75 and 100 bids.Thank goodness theirs less 200 bid packages or that would of been scooped up to. today they had the LOUIS VUITTON Batignolles and guess who won Aceskye of course, and the final bid $33.00,that auction lasted 4-5 hours and Aceskye bidded from beginning till end , I watched how many bids do you think Aceskye used to win a 33.00 amount, from start to end 4-5 hours. take a guess.

Also I would like to add I have won items from Site , and I have tried to play at different times of the day sometimes 1 day a week ,but I think it's more fair and fun if every one wins, otherwise we wouldn't have anyone to bid against,

but I definitely understand why alot and I mean alot of people are upset about Aceskye, I actually did not bid for a month myself because I got frustrated.

Hopefully with this new bid package rule , everyone will win to.

    thanks

OK one more comment, I went another site and I don't want to say , but similar comments as what you guys were saying about on certain bidders. And although I wrote my comments to it's good to express what the issues are so that the auction site scan get better, you may not think that with us not writing will help, but t does.

I just want to say that the fashion bay, I really like it, and they do have great stuff, we can all admit that right? I will probably do a video or write testimonial on what I won I won, I really don't want bidders to be

discouraged on not winning due to the bid packages, bidding because of the Aceskye always out bidding others. For me sometimes there are really nice gift cards and beautiful purses I want on site but like I said sometimes you have to say no, if to many bidders . Maybe some of you try bidding 1 a week or wait till you can buy the bid package you want to freely go crazy and bid, I do that sometimes, and sometimes I say today I will view and learn.

The site fashion bay is good the only thing is they have more bid packages less gift items, what's good is that when you win a gift card they don't charge you alot to ship it. I say if you want to get better, watch others that's what I do.Then when you have your chance go for it. hope you stay inspired.

Try2keepup is back with a vengence on Fashion Bay, you can't win a thing with them, so will have to keep track of what they win, and then go back and try to bid once they hit there limit. already won 2 bid packs, and 2 gift cards within the last couple of hours. Aceskye is wining all the louis vuitton.

This is listed as an auction site where as the time runs out, the highest bidder wins. I took screen shots of the bidding that show I was highest bidder at 0:00:00 seconds left, and then there is a bidder higher than me that shows 3 seconds left (after my bid was at 0 seconds), then another higher bid comes through and there are 10 seconds on the clock. I would be happy to send these screen shots to the company, but they have not answered my email to customer service. I feel as if it is a scam for $ and the screen shots clearly show the bidding gets higher and instead of the clock timer going down- it goes UP!!!

Then the other day i was bidding on an item and it hit 1 i bid and it went right to complete. What is up with that???

Thank you all for the feedback. There have been questions raised in regards to when an auction ends and why the timer sometimes pauses at the end of the countdown and resets soon after. We want to state that our counter always gets reset to 15 seconds if there’s less than 15 seconds remaining and someone makes a bid on the auction. Users often bid at the very last second and as long as their bids are made before the auction ends, the counter is reset to 15 seconds. Sometimes there are Internet lag times in transferring data between your PCs and our servers, causing several seconds to pass before the counter on your browser is updated. We take the integrity of our site seriously and do not interfere with any of our auctions.

Please don’t hesitate to contact us at customerservice@fashionbay.com if you have further questions. It's important to us to answer each question we receive, so if you haven't yet heard from us, send us another message in case the first didn't make it to our side.

Don’t get sucked into Fashion Bid. Everyone that uses this site is either stupid or doesn’t know how to do math. They trick you into thinking that you are buying designer bags for a few dollars…. but in reality, you have to purchase each bid for 75-80c.

Something just sold just went for $4.42. Fashion Bay is claiming that this item was worth $60.00 and that the winner “saved” a total of 92%. That is completely misleading since I watched the same two people in a bidding war, each putting over 100 bids on the item. What the “winner” doesn’t realize is that if they spent 80 cents buying each bid, then they have spent $80.00 buying the item.

It’s totally misleading and they are duping people who don’t realize what is going on.

Bidding Girl i totally agree, Fashion Bay must be losing lots of money, what with them 2 winning all the LV’s and the higher bid packages, and at such low prices, but once people see there name’s come up, they stop bidding, i know i have. I wonder if they might be the same person, because they never bid against each other. Oh well on to another site.

If Fashion Bay wants to do the right thing here, please ban this use who is taking advantage of the system and is pretty much monopolizing all the bids.

Well Aceskye just won a Gucci bag for $1.81, she won a LV bag the other day, at a low price as well, I guess Fashion Bay doesn’t mind losing money, because no one else will win against them. I know i won’t even bid if she is bidding, same with Try2keepup. They must have endless money to purchase bids. One of the other sites i watch limits how many bids you can buy in a 30 day period. Don’t know if that would help.

  • pam December 21, 2010, 2:23 pm

I have commented on this particular bidder Aceskye and there is something weird, with the 100 times that bidder wind bid packages and all and I mean every single Gucci and Louis vuitton, sometimes that bidder already won that item and bids to win 2 of the same item that fashion bay repeats for others to try to win, (ladies go to google and type fashion bay bidder Aceskye and then “click on the cache , and you can see the wins or go to fashion bay twitter and check history of wins).
and by the way let me add that the bidder TryToKeepUP” this is probably a real person, as I have seen that name not the ones that copy the name and spell it differently, I mean this one that is spelled as this the name bidder TryToKeepUP , I have bidded on this person and have won few times,
this bidder I wouldn’t worry about ladies that bidder has luck sometimes, don’t be afraid to bid on that one.(just watch the bidding amounts) before you play ok.
(BUT)– it’s the Aceskye is taking advantage and all that reads this and on other blogs , I have seen and read over and over auction bidders , said the same thing that they won’t buy bid packages from fashion bay when, they see the name Aceskye , and to boot alot of bidders on fashion bay have bought smaller bid packages as they do not want to lose all their investments from bidding on a louis vuitton or gucci because of Aceskye they see, it doesn’t matter that this person will bid on a 100 bid package with 200 bids so you don’t win, I have never seen this person lose , as I have stated that I personally bid and bought 200 bids and that person had 300 or more on a 100 package.(makes no sense) unless it’s a computer . and I have complained about this to the company and after reading others blogs they are not worried they will say the bidder is bidding the correct amount of times, and it’s funny that louis vuitton and gucci )good stuff is always up to bid only when it’s allowed for Aceskye to bid on their 6 wins a month.
The bidder Dkny is another one to watch , I have never seen that bidder bid against Aceskye and within the 6 wins when one of them is past the limit , then it’s the other turn to bid on a 100 package and 75 package and this two always win. I personally bid against Dkny 1-2 times and bought 2 100bids and lost it’s as if Dkny had 300 bids placed and won a 100 package and same as Aceskye lot’s bids stored or (Rigged) for them. Don’t tell me Fashion Bay Has not had complaints on definteley Aceske and Dkny.
the bidder” TryToKeepUp” is not really a threat I have seen that person lose against me and in 2 other auction stes have lost and when others bidded against TRYTOKEEPUP , I have seen win.
has anyone notice ROSEMARIE bidder wins alot, this person wins alot on 2 other sites as well and I have seen EnglishGirl go toe to toe against rosemarie and dropped out , but the worst is when English girl try’d to take on bidder Aceskye and lose as the bidder EnglishGirl a fool like me bought an exorbitant amount of bids and try’d to win up to think 25-40 dollars against ACESKYE and lose, and I have seen EngishGirl win pretty good on other sites. and could not win or make a dent against Aceskye something is up with that, no one has won against Aceskye.Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

Well Aceskye just won a Louis Vuitton handbag for $1.05, when will they learn. Don’t add any LV no one else will ever win them, and they will lose serious money. JMO!!!

Aceskye is now after the Coach bags, someone just tried to go against her, and she wouldn’t even let there name stay up for more than a second. Geesh!!! They must have thousands of dollars to spend on this site. Something sure seems off…

It is April 2011 and the same “people” (*cough* bots *cough*) are still at it. Fashion Bay is a scam and by the looks of the comments section here, people should know that.

Of the people here, can anyone testify to the fact that they have won and received their prize? (& by prize, I mean the purses and not the gift cards)
