Have you bid on BattyBid.com? If so, what have your experiences been?

battybid bots

One of our forum members recently discovered that BattyBid had bidders without e-mail addresses  bidding on June 7th.

TBD Writes:

“Thought you all might like to know that I’m 99% sure BattyBidz is botting. Here’s a list of bots from a while back (before they plugged the firebug hole)

TBD told us that he didn’t have screenshots saved, but with the use of Firebug he was able to find that some users had e-mail addresses associated with their username (we think this is a flaw in the PHPPennyauction.com script that allows the username/email information to display), and then he found that some did not have e-mail addresses.

In the past we have concluded that because users didn’t have e-mail addresses they were probably bot bidders. When looking at the script demo we saw that their automated users did not need to have e-mail addresses.

What do you think? Have you bid on BattyBid? Discuss this in the forum.

That’s why online pharmacies is becoming more pop over the last years. Well-known are remedies which are used to reduce inflammation caused by inflammation of the skeletal muscle etc. There were only few examples. Did somebody tell you about canadian generic Viagra? Maybe you afore know about the matter. Sexual dysfunction can be a result of a physical condition. Even when it has a physical cause, psychological problems can make the disorder worse. Sex drive problems are so commonly a product of how you feel that there is something to that “headache” saying after all.

I think you're probably right. I've been using it since it started, and those names were all very familiar to me…however since this came out I haven't seen any of them on the site – and a few were regular 'winners'

Here's what they said when I got in touch:

    Thank you for contacting us.

We are aware of the alleged allegations towards us. As with any new business in the penny auction industry there will be bad press. No matter what we reply to pennyauctionwatch it will not satisfy their query. From the research we have compiled it would seem that every single penny auction site is accused of being guilty until proven otherwise. In order for pennyauctionwatch to be completely satisfied we would have to allow them full access to our administration systems and server.

We believe that allowing an outside company that has no legal right to effectively ?snoop? around our database systems would be a breach of our terms and conditions to our existing users. That company would be able to clearly see names, dates of birth and addresses and as you will be aware that here in the UK this is a huge data protection concern. The regulations in the USA may be different. We take every precaution we can to prevent users details being available to anyone outside of our company.

If you look at the UK?s biggest sites such as Madbid and Swoopo, BidCactus and Doobids they have also have had their fair share of bad press.

Unlike those companies we do not yet have a huge flow of traffic to our site but we are steadily growing. As with any marketing campaign the initial buzz subsides and registered members who signed up in the first week only make periodic visits to the site. A proportion of members who use the site and don?t win with their initial fee bids will not visit again. We are increasing our user numbers everyday.

Some periods of the day are noticeably quieter than others and as a new company we are limited to the number of auctions and auction items which we can list on a weekly basis. We try and list a ?larger value? item to coincide with a special offer or holiday period.

Members who have won items are aware that we do not use ?autobots? otherwise how would they have won the item? There have been a vast majority of our auctions which have ended between £0.01p and £0.10p and most end far below the standard retail price of the item. We know that it will take us a while to get established in the market place and are still going though teething issues such as shipping times. We aim to have items delivery as quickly as possible but occasionally there are delays as in the case of the auction you won on 7th May 2010.

If you decide you do not wish to participate in any other auctions it would be a shame as you are a valued member of our user community and one of our first 100 to register in the first few weeks. We would however understand your decision.

If you decide that you wish to deactivate your account please let us know and we can refund your latest bid package purchase. Our Term and Conditions do state that bid packages are non ? refundable but in this instance we will for this circumstance.

    Yours Sincerely

    The BattyBid Team

Well, we're not the only site online questioning BattyBid, another one even calls them a scam outright, we didn't do that. BattyBid, if you don't use bots please let us know.
