Is Jeaper.com’s News Interview Video Real?

Yesterday I received an unsolicited ad, to my personal e-mail address, promoting Jeaper.com. The subject was: “Super Black Friday Blow out! 42” LCD TV for only $19.85! The message, from Bob at TrustedUpdates.com,

“Get the best Black Friday deals from the comfort of your own home!

The TrustedUpdates link is really a masked affiliate link for the following landing page for new penny auction site Jeaper.com, the landing page is quite familiar to a few other penny auction sites’ landing pages, either used by affiliates or by the sites themselves.

These landing pages show news segments & logos for popular media networks along with words like “clearance, closeout and/or government liquidation items,” they will also sometimes compare their auction site to eBay in an effort to make their auctions/site appear to be more favorable than eBay.

Penny auction bidders know that penny auction sites are nothing like eBay and these affiliate marketers/sites should be ashamed of themselves for trying to degrade eBay with images of broken computers, etc.

After registering on Jeaper.com’s landing page, users are directed to the 2nd page of registration which  seems to be charging $119 for a bid pack of 200 bids.

Jeaper.com doesn’t display much, if any, information about who runs the auction site.  In fact, the terms & conditions don’t seem to be complete as they make mention of PennyAuctionSoft. The Jeaper.com  domain was registered by “WhoisGuard” on August 10th, 2010.

This new penny auction site has iPad’s, quite a few HDTV’s, iPods, gift cards, and many other items. They also seem to have a “Buy it Now” meaning users can apply bids spent to purchasing the item if they don’t win.

Jeaper’s homepage, as well as the landing page, displays what looks like a news segment by “News 4” with what seems to be reporters, “Jennifer Peterson” and “Jilly-Ann Thompson,” but correct me if I’m wrong, this news segment doesn’t seem real.

In my opinion, the “news segment” sounds and feels like an ad.

Unable to find the news segment on a real news network’s site, I did find that the Jeaper.com news segment video is hosted on both Jeaper.com’s YouTube account and that of “LarmarVideo.”

“What is Larmar Video? “In 1989, Larry Bridge and Marc Solomon first opened LARMAR Video for business with a VHS camera and a dream. Since those early days, we have preserved treasured memories for hundreds of special occasions.”-Larmarvideo.com

Larmar’s other videos include TV commercials.

The news segment states that Jeaper.com has over 17,000+ members. Their Alexa ranking is just over 800k.

What do you think is going on here? Have you bid on Jeaper.com? Have you won anything & received it yet? Please let us know!

That’s why online pharmacies is becoming more pops over the last years. Well-known are remedies which are used to reduce inflammation caused by inflammation of the skeletal muscle etc. There were only few examples. Did somebody tell you about canadian generic Viagra? Maybe you already know about the question. Sexual dysfunction can be a result of a physical condition. Even when it has a physical cause, psychological problems can make the disorder worse. Sex drive problems are so commonly a product of how you feel that there is something to that “headache” saying after all.

What a bogus scam that makes you feel good about it for a few hours at best. Start biding and whatch the seconds clock count down the seconds are like 1 and 1/2 seconds and then 2 seconds the seconds are way over a second and then it freezes and stops. If you make a bid it starts again but stops after 30 to 40 seconds and you have to refresh the screen which takes a good 30 to 45 seconds. You would have to bid every 20 seconds to keep the screen going to keep up to date with the current bid which depending on the package is a dollar a bid. I watched a 379.00 item go for 13.73 which is 13 dollars for the winner but 1,373 dollars to jearers!!! and the screen keep freezing so I could not bid at the last second and by the time I got back on it was over for a guy that bid 33 times at 33 dollars and the 13 dollars he paid for the product. he made out ok but its more like a lottery than anything else.

Regarding Jeaper.Com: You mentioned — “The Jeaper.com domain was registered by “WhoisGuard” on August 10th, 2010. ”

Check out the FALSE TESTIMONIAL by “Malesiya F” stating “I started playing at Jeaper way back in January”!! Also, if you read all the testimonials together, you will notice lots of similar working, and mistakes in print.

Further, I totally agree about the false News Ad! They are easy to create, and the LOW quality production points to a cheap production studio. (Bad Bluescreen effect, Jagged Text Logo, lack of information regarding the news source or location.) All this, and the obvious pushing of the service, unlike an objective news report.

    Best Wishes,
    Chris

If you go to Jeaper.com you will see my ID yaphett was the latest winner of a 42″ HD TV I just won that at 8:23 pm on Friday December 3, 2010, I will write back on here in the next couple weeks if I actually receive a working 42″ LG LED TV.

Well I got the tv, 9 business days later and it works, and it is in fact the model number they posted. I’m satisfied, even if I never win anything from them again.

Did they ever change you status from Not Shipped to Shipped?

It went from not shipped to just accepted, then a track number, which didn’t match UPS, fedex or usps, I had to call and get my UPS tracking number.

I have been watching Jeaper the last 2 to 3 weeks. I saw Yaphet win his auction and all was looking like a legit site, but on Tuesday Dec 7th all the auctions ended around 2 in the afternoon. When the auctions started back up in the evening it seems to have a lot more activity than before. For example a PS3 on Tuesday sold for 20 cents and earlier around 3 dollars but now they are all going to above 40 dollars with bidders continuing to bid several hundred times. I am only speculating that they have created some bots to bid and run up the cost plus this will cause legit bidders to lose all the bids they paid for.

If anyone is seeing anything differently please let me know by posting.

    Thanks,

I won a $100 Home Depot gift card for $.26 and I took it Home Depot to find out if it’s real. It is! That’s great.

But since then I have not been able to win a thing, while spending lots of bids/ dollars. I keep seeing the same people win things too: MickDee and Naranjimo, for example, are either very lucky or they have a system. Or they are Jeaper.com bots!

O you know for a fact they are bots huh. Yea right!!! I’m not saying they don’t use them but come on people. You knew for a fact they used them yet you still signed up and lost your money right? Yea okay buddy, prove it and then everyone can sue the H*** out of them. Sounds like to me that SOME people on here just want to tear them down because they lost money.

This site is a joke. If you signup it says receive 5 free bids and if u use promo winbig u should get 10 more. Ha thats crap it doesnt give u 10 extra bids. I called customer service, its non existent. It tells you they are busy, well in my opinion if they are that busy they should hire more ppl to answer phones if they make so much money. Second the bots are true and it sounds like guy above works for jeaper. SCAM SCAM SCAM SCAM SCAM SCAM

I wanted to add That I have spent alot of bids to win a product and when there was4 seconds left it would not let me bid. And the guy (prob a bot like the names mentioned above) who had been bidding won. The winning bidder easilly bid over 500 times wich means he spent $250 for a $50 gift card. Ya right! The site has computer bidders to make you lose bids, then wins and puts the product up again. ITS A SCAM.

I just found the site yesterday, got on and won 4 different things. Then a sign came up and said I had to wait 1 week to bid again to give others a chance to win. (seems fair to me) I haven’t received the items yet as it was just yesterday that I won them. I sent them a email and this morning they got back to me with the info. I will keep you all posted as to when my items arrive. Cowboy1 You can see where I won the items yesterday… Gery

I did finally win a PS3 and now am waiting for it to be delivered. I am still watching and still see the bots running the price up and taking others bids. It seems the bots are running the prices higher now than when they first started on 12/7.

Does anyone use any other sites like this that seem to be more fair?

    Thanks

This is a scam rip-off. I got charged $139 without even getting authorized for bid. Don’t use this scam. I am $139 down in the hole for nothing. The instruction is vague. Try it if you want to get cheated and scammed. Think about it.

Your the idiot that put your credit card in. If you go to there site it clearly states that you are buying the $139.00 starters bid package. Wow some of you are complete morons. What happen is that you started using up all your bids and ran out now you mad and want to say they cheated you and give them a bad name. Cry me a river.

I’m not a moron. The $139 appears as an advertisement on the registration page. It is very deceiving and it is not clear! I have joined other auction websites and it is not unusual to give them your credit card # so you can quickly order more bids. I’ve never registered for a site that trys to sell you a package of bids during the registration process. I’ve entered an inquiry with my credit card company to dispute these charges. I did try to contact Jeepers through their customer service site to no avail. (BTW, I only used one bid from my 10 free bids on this site).

I’ll update if I receive any item again.

      • eWorld December 23, 2010, 8:17 pm

No, it doesn’t show shipped but it shows a button (I think the button should be “Shipped” but doesn’t show correctlly) and “Tracking Number: XXXXX”. The number is not UPS or USPS tracking number and differient digitals, such as 4, 5, 6, 7 digitals. I think maybe it is Jeaper’s tracking number. I received my PS3 after 2 days the tracking number showed and 3 gift cards after 3 days the number showed.

        Just telling what I experienced.

Yes, that’s a fake News 4. I could do better on the graphics front, and I’m still in high school!

Real TV stations however have been used by other, smarter penny auction sites: KWTV Oklahoma City (SwipeBids when the story was about QuiBids; I actually wrote a letter to the news director there) and WESH Orlando (which they changed to after the KWTV stuff).

Today, I received my 5th item that I won on 12/10/2010. It is HP Mini 110-3130NR 10.1 Inch Netbook (Black) and shipped from Amazon.com. I think the jeaper ordered it via Amazon.

Also, my another item (iPad 64GB Wifi + 3G) that I montioned a week ago looks like had been sent out already. Maybe I’ll receive it in next couble days because it was changed the status and showed a tracking number at the same time with the HP Mini Netbook.

      Thanks Jeaper!

I never receive the shipping info. via email. If you see the tracking number, it means it is on the way (usually take 2 to 5 days from they putted the tracking number there). I think the shipping time depends on what you win. I saw they shipped out 2 gift cards that I won on 12/18/10 but they still not ship out my Sony DVD CAMCORDER that I won on 12/10/10. So, I think just waiting and watching what we can bid and what the jeaper is changing.

      Good luck!

5 minutes ago, I received a phone call from PayPal. A gentleman said he just wanted to vertify if I received products from Jeaper because he saw I paid many times to jeaper via PayPal. I told him the truth that I have received 6 of 10 items that I won from Jeaper.

I really don’t know why this gentleman called me because I pay hundreds via Paypal and they never call me before. What does it mean?

I am a 76 year old woman with limited income. I never agreed to buy anything nor did I even bid on anything. I just wanted to see how it worked and they said I must give credit card info to even look. So dumb me, I did and now I have a $159.00 charge on my credit card and was preparing to call them up and see just what it was I purchased. After reading these comments I realize I have been scammed. If you can advise who to complain to I will. Their phone number is unavailable and the website is down. I did try to contact them. Monday will report this to credit card company and dispute the charge. However, it is very hard to get the money back once it has been paid out. Thank you for your input. I do realize I am not the only foolish person out there but it still makes me mad and stupid. Thanks, Flo Ford

They have 24 hour customer service. Jeaper.com better not try to charge me again– Especially since the website is down and their phone number is not working either. I feel a little better now. Still feeling rather stupid, though.

He should had picked up the phone then. Was more messed up is that there’s no way to get in contact with them, websites down, phones disconnected. I told him that I’m not done with him or them, and that I’ll be getting everybody that have being robbed by this website to help me out in this, so if you guys wanna help me this I’ll b glad and it will b helpful. Jeaper.com is a SCAM. They charged my card the $139 and I decided to use the bids at my own risk. I happened to have won a Dunkin Donut $50 Gift card and a 42″ LED TV. I paid the bid price of $3.25 for the gift card and received it in 4 weeks. I paid the tv bid price for $75.83 and it was taken from my account immediately.
After three weeks, I checked the status of the shipment and it stated it was shipped. It had no tracking number, no ship date, incomplete information given all around. I waited another week and then contacted Jeaper via email around 1/20/11 to find out why I was charged since 12/14/10 and the item was never shipped to me. I was told that all items are shipped from Amazon.com and it was shipped since 1/11/11 and apparently a problem occurred with my order (1st lie). The item was supposed to be reshipped and delivered to me on 1/27/11. I called on 1/28/11, and was told that because of weather the item is taking longer than usual (2nd lie).
The following week, I happened to purchase an item through Amazon.com and received the item in 5 days,(Third warning sign). I contacted Jeaper.com to tell them to stop the lying and refund my $75.83. To my surprise, the site was closed, number was disconnected, and email was undeliverable. My personal message to Jeaper.com, you can’t get away with it. you will pay somehow or another.
