What Was Your First Penny Auction Win?

Have you won an item on a penny auction site yet? What was the very first item you won?

I still remember my first win and the frustration & excitement I experienced while bidding for it. It was for a Nintendo Wii Game System, won on April 2, 2009, 3:45 AM, (yes, 3:45 am, I believe I started bidding maybe around 9 pm?).  I won it on totally free bids on the now defunct YottaBid.com. How’d I find my first penny auction site? From an ad in local newspaper, no, print is not dead!

At first glance I thought it had to be a scam, after all, how could anyone get something for nothing or for “pennies?” I experienced a lot of software glitches at first, but ended up winning many items.

After I received my first item, on totally free bids, I was “hooked.” During their grand opening, they would give out a number of free bids for each day you logged in. The site lasted about 3 months before it shut down. It wasn’t until months later that, thanks to this forum, I found that they had allegedly shill bid.

“You have won the following item through YottaBid.Com.
AuctionID : 51
Auction Item Name : PROMO! Nintendo Wii Game System
Winning Price : $0.00

Date You Won The Item : 02-04-2009″

I signed up, and had never heard of a penny auction before, in fact I didn’t even know YottaBid was a “penny auction” until a while after I won many items from them.

The second penny auction site I tried was CheapOBids.com by Jackson Electronics, they were BBB accredited and were  “auctioning” off a new car, a 2009 Honda Civic Hybrid. After my experience trying to win a car on CheapOBids.com, I was able to get a refund and did contact the BBB,

I knew that something was not right, not much, if any, information could be found on CheapOBids.  Hardly any at all on penny auctions, so I set out to set up PAW to provide a place for bidders like me to share their experiences and help others find good penny auctions, and expose the scam sites. After all, I really liked that I was able to win items for less than retail on Yottabid, and even many not less than retail.  Penny auctions are filled with ups & downs and I experienced the war of attrition first hand when I spent $200 on a $50 gift card against one bidder, only to lose.

So, now that I’ve told you about my first win, what was yours? An HDMI cable, iPad, Tom Tom, iPod Touch and gift cards are among some of our members first wins. Join us!

That’s why online pharmacies is becoming more popular over the last years. Well-known are remedies which are used to reduce inflammation caused by inflammation of the skeletal muscle etc. There were only few examples. Did somebody tell you about canadian generic Viagra? Maybe you yet know about the problem. Sexual malfunction can be a result of a physical condition. Even when it has a physical why, psychological problems can make the disorder worse. Sex drive problems are so commonly a product of how you feel that there is some to that “headache” saying after all.

I recently signed up to bidmacs and won a $100 Nordstrom Card, 25 bid vouchers, an a flashlight 3 pack! I clicked on an advertisement promoting the site where I had to buy 250 bids with 50 bonus bids for $149. I was a little leery spending $149 but now I’m hooked after my recent wins. I want to find other auctions sites to try my luck! It seems like a interesting and fun way to shop for xmas gifts! What are some other good auctions out there?!

    Hi Shane,

Recently I heard about bumperbid.com, try this they not have timers like other site, and have a unique and simple way to win products.

I won 6 apple products from bidmacs. I reached my 7 win limit after winning the useless bidpacks and had to sit out for a month but a month later, there was nothing left to bid on. I think they are out of business now even though the website is still running. I hope they’ll return. It is the only penny auction site that you can win with some patience. Other sites use automated bidders that makes it harder for you to win unless you have tons of money.
