Are There Penny Auctions That Disallow Jumpers?

Though it’s the way the game was intended to be played, penny auction bidders at times get discouraged when other bidders come in later after they’ve already spent a significant number of bids, our forum members call them “jumpers.”

Today one of our members asked the following question: “Should penny auction sites create no jump auctions?

Just a thought but what if penny auction sites created an auction type where it stops accepting new bidders say once it passes the $0.75 mark. so those who try to jump in after everyone has fallen off and theres only 1 main bidder left won’t be able to. i mean i know theres things that come in to play like what if you just got to a comp and your late jumping in the auction and what not but the code wouldn’t be that hard to make. just wanted to know everyone elses thoughts on this.”

“I believe Penny Auctions Canada has something like this. After a certain price they don’t allow any bidders to jump in unless they’ve already bid on the auction.”

Another member told us that BargainsandFun.com also has a similar feature:

“Bargainsandfun.com

If you are not bidding here, get the heck over there now.

They employ it today, using an inner-loop feature. Very cool and very impressive. Yes, there are people who will toss in a bid or two to remain eligible and this occurs on some of the blind auctions, making it less meaningful, but still tells you someone is out there. I am not sure you can get it better than this since the sites deserve to make money as well. If there was a percentage to put on the amount of bids – say someone has to be in 10 percent of the auction – that would be sweet. This is just a pipedream in my estimation and the inner-loop is likely as good as one can hope for.”

BargainsandFun’s Inner-Loop Auctions:

“Inner-Loop Auction: Any auction can become an Inner-Loop auction at any time. To bid on Inner-Loop auctions you must have previously placed a single manual bid on that auction BEFORE it became an Inner-Loop auction. All other restrictions will still apply but after becoming Inner-Loop only those who have bid on the auction will be able to bid.”

On BargainsandFun.com in order to bid on an Inner-Loop auction, users must first have placed a bid within the last 50-200 bids placed.

One member’s thoughts on “jumpers”

Jumpers: Prevent new bidders from entering an auction, after it reaches a certain level. The inner loop feature is helpful, but bidders make sure they slap one bid in the auction, for every 99 bids placed, to assure they can still jump at any time. Owners should still make a profit, because jumpers enter auctions when the price is already up there….thus the name jumper.”

That’s why online pharmacies is becoming more popular over the last years. Well-known are remedies which are used to reduce inflammation caused by inflammation of the skeletal muscle etc. There were only few examples. Did somebody tell you about canadian generic Viagra? Maybe you afore know about the matter. Sexual dysfunction can be a result of a physical condition. Even when it has a physical reason, psychological problems can make the disorder worse. Sex drive problems are so commonly a product of how you feel that there is something to that “headache” saying after all.

To clarify the comments above about my site – Bargainsandfun.com does have the inner-loop functionality, in the Inner-Loop1 auction you can not bid unless you have previously bid on the auction, during Inner-Loop2 you must remain in the last 200 bids placed, Inner-Loop3 requires a bid within the last 100 bids placed and Inner-Loop4 requires a bid within the last 50 bids placed. Any auction can go to any status at any time and may even SKIP a status depending on bidding. After the change to a new status the auction timer will start at 2:00 signaling to users that something has changed!

I think allowing jumpers makes them more money. The jumpers watch for a good time to get in but the other bidders that have been bidding all along don’t want to give the item up because they have been in all along. So the old bidder keeps bidding against the new bidders or they just give up because they looked away. I haven’t been doing this long enough to have any other opinion.
