iTicketBid Allegedly Sending out Shipping Notices Months Before Shipping?

penny auction items Penny auction bidders have been scoring great deals on penny auction site iTicketBid.com, so great that some are questioning whether or not the site  will ship their wins. One PAW member recently told us that iTicketBid sent him shipping notices months ago, dating back to February 9th, and still has yet to receive his items. How is this possible?

“iTicket allegedly sent me 5 gift cards via “Fedex 2nd day air” on May 4th (look several pages back on this thread). I received a tracking number from them on May 4th for this shipment. The tracking number was not “valid” till May 7…I kept checking it and it finally updated May 7 with an expected delivery date of May 10.

The fact that people have received tracking numbers, but some of those numbers never seem to validate (ie…the package is never actually sent by iTicket/picked up by Fedex), I submit that numbers are being generated in-house, but items are not actually being shipped. I’m not offering this as a reason to panic or charge-back, just offering my observation, so others can make an informed decision.

Unfortunately, delays in shipping from penny auction sites isn’t a new problem. Back in December we posted about the FTC’s Prompt Delivery Rules for Selling on The Internet and told you how users were waiting months to receive items from penny auction site BidSauce.com, well we’re pretty sure these rules are still in effect and no, penny auction sites are not exempt.

Know your rights as a consumer!

“Complying With The Rule

By law, you must have a reasonable basis for stating that a product can be shipped within a certain time. If your advertising doesn’t clearly and prominently state the shipment period, you must have a reasonable basis for believing that you can ship within 30 days.

If you can’t ship within the promised time (or within 30 days if you made no promise), you must notify the customer of the delay, provide a revised shipment date and explain his right to cancel and get a full and prompt refund.

For definite delays of up to 30 days, you may treat the customer’s silence as agreeing to the delay. But for longer or indefinite delays – and second and subsequent delays – you must get the customer’s written, electronic or verbal consent to the delay. If the customer doesn’t give you his okay, you must promptly refund all the money the customer paid you without being asked by the customer.

Finally, you have the right to cancel orders that you can’t fill in a timely manner, but you must promptly notify the customer of your decision and make a prompt refund.

Running Late? Overwhelmed with Orders?

The Rule gives you several ways to deal with an unexpected demand.

  • You can change your shipment promises up to the point the consumer places the order, if you reasonably believe that you can ship by the new date. The updated information overrides previous promises and reduces your need to send delay notices. Be sure to tell your customer the new shipment date before you take the order.
  • You must provide a delay option notice if you can’t ship within the originally promised time. The Rule lets you use a variety of ways to provide the notice, including e-mail, fax or phone. It’s a good idea to keep a record of what your notice states, when you provide it, and the customer’s response.”- From the FTC’s Business Center

It’s unacceptable for a penny auction site to list more items than they can afford to ship!

We’ve said it before and will say it again:

In my opinion, it almost seems as if some penny auction sites are operating on a system similar to that of a ponzi scheme.  These sites seem be offering more items without shipping owed items because they hope to generate enough income with present & future items so that they will be able to fulfill outstanding products.

If a site is slow to ship and you don’t want to wait, why continue to bid there?

If you’re a penny auction site owner and want to keep your customers happy, not to mention keep the law, you should ship fast and keep your customers updated!

That’s why online pharmacies is becoming more pops over the last years. Well-known are remedies which are used to reduce inflammation caused by inflammation of the skeletal muscle etc. There were only few examples. Did somebody tell you about canadian generic Viagra? Maybe you already know about the matter. Sexual malfunction can be a result of a physical condition. Even when it has a physical cause, psychological problems can make the disorder worse. Sex drive problems are so commonly a product of how you feel that there is some to that “headache” saying after all.

I too am waiting for items form iticket. A gift card and a blender, they sent me a tracking number today. I have a dispute open with paypal because it has been more than 30 days since the auctions closed and I paid my shipping costs. They wanted me to remove my dispute with paypal as soon as I recieved my tracking number but, I told them I would do that after I recieved my items. Best of bidding to everyone. I decided that my safest route to take when going on a penny auction, would be to go to qubids, where i know i will recieve my items asap and they welcome new peop;e as well as the people that have been using there site for a long time. I say that because arrowhead sent me a note telling me how much they value their veterans, not once mentioning that they appreciated my business.

to everyone that are waiting for items to be shipped,
pls make me understand why someone would continue bidding on any sites after waiting longer than required by law to receive an item.

as posted by the person below he/she has been waiting since 02/9/11
but kept bidding till 04/18/11 and may still be bidding.after 2 weeks if you still have not received your items speaking for myself i would use up any remaining bids and stop using the site .waiting more than 2 weeks for an item to be shipped after receiving a supposed tracking number to me is a sure sign that the site is going further in the hole and should be avoided.
