ScoreLuxe.com was a penny auction site that offered higher priced penny auction items such as $500 gift cards to Nordstrom’s, iPads and Louis Vuitton handbags.
Today, we’ve been informed that ScoreLuxe’s userbase has been purchased by NailBidder.com, a penny auction site that’s been open for a little over a year now.
We were surprised to see this after taking into account the following message that was sent to us by ScoreLuxe on May 27th:
“I wanted to let you know that ScoreLuxe terminated its affiliate program today, but the email our management company sent out said we were discontinuing operations, which is untrue.”
We were not an affiliate so we did not receive the e-mail they were referring to.
The message on ScoreLuxe.com now reads,
“I want to introduce myself, my name is Rusty and I am the head honcho over at NailBidder.com. We have some great news, NailBidder.com has purchased all of ScoreLuxe.com’s members! In doing so, we have agreed to give 1 FREE BONUS BID for every unused bid in your ScoreLuxe.com account (this is not a double up, it is 1 for 1). Your ScoreLuxe.com username and password have been entered into our system and all bids have been credited to your account on NailBidder.com. If you already had a NailBidder.com account the bids were added to your balance. Please remember it is against NailBidder.com terms and conditions to have more than 1 account. If by some chance we made a mistake please email us and we will combine your accounts. When you log into NailBidder.com please make sure you read our FAQs as there are a few slight differences from ScoreLuxe.com. Please make sure you also check your information when you log on to NailBidder.com, some information could have been altered by mistake during the transfer process.

According to the message by NailBidder, they are not responsible for any items that you won on ScoreLuxe prior to June 10th, 2011.
“If you are having an issue with a previous transaction please contact ScoreLuxe.com at admin[at]scoreluxe.com. If the issue can’t be resolved please contact us and we will do our best to help. Please wait at least 48 hours before emailing ScoreLuxe.com, their systems are out and are in the process of being repaired.”

“I Feel Duped!
I was so upset last week when Scoreluxe didn’t come back up after “scheduled maintenance.”. I had recently joined the site and won a $100 Nordstroms card for a super great price. I thought the communication and rapid shipping ( via fedex with tracking number emailed the next day–and no shipping charge) were great! Well, after several days of the same outdated message post, Scoreluxe announced they would be back up and running today…..”look for exciting new changes” was the tagline……I excitedly jumped on their website this am( even though I’m already dreadfully late for work as it is)……and…..
Some PA site called “nailbidder” bought Scoreluxes client list. That is exciting? For whom? No offense to Nailbidder, but I know nothing about them? And, if I wanted to join nailbidder, I would have done so on my own. I feel as duped by Scoreluxe as I did when I fell for that SeaMonkey scam as a child! Talk about setting someone up for a letdown! Hmm…. Perhaps nailbidder should start auctioning SeaMonkeys…..
