On July 3rd and 4th we posted information we found on the penny auction site SmartBidderz.com which alleges shill bidding, phony testimonials, both published by the company owner herself and another by a Fiverr actor.
Shameful.
Since yesterday morning SmartBidderz.com has been offline. The message on the site reads “We are currently experiencing a higher number of visitors than usual. The website is currently down, please try again later.”
Really? A “higher number of visitors than usual?”

SmartBidderz is back up and running but needs to be watched very very closely. They have 100 plus live active auctions running simultaneously (25 live auctions per page and up to 5 pages at a time) and the same 50 to 100 usernames are bidding around the clock. If you look at all the live auctions, you’ll see the same usernames bidding on 2 or 3 items per page. In other words, they’re bidding on 8 to 12 or more auctions at the same time located on 4 to 5 pages of auctions. Plus, they never sleep. Those 50 to 100 usernames are always on. Check out the site every few minutes and you’ll see the same usernames over and over all day and all night. I suspect bots but if they’re not, they might be shills that must drink a lot of caffeine. I see many other red flags regarding this site but what I’ve mentioned is enough for me to never bid there.
