Don’t you just hate it when you’re going head-to-head with another bidder vying for the same item on a penny auction site only to end up losing all of your money because a late entrant?
Bidders who start bidding after the penny auction item has progressed have been coined “jumpers” by the penny auction community.
Jumpers comes in “late” in your game, and likely either end up winning because they had less invested, and could afford to beat out the bidders who had already been bidding from the beginning, or cause you to spend more just so you can win.
Is there something wrong with penny auction “jumping?”
Well, it can make it harder to win, but it is just the way the game is played. Jumping is a form
of strategy for some bidders, but it sure can be frustrating when bidders come in after you’ve already spent a lot of money in bids. This is why if you cannot afford to lose money you really should not even try penny auctions, you could get carried away too easily and lose more than you bargained on.
