Penny Auction Watch: What got you interested in the entertainment shopping industry?
DoughChest: The entertainment shopping industry has always fascinated me, and, given the number of fraudulent entertainment shopping websites around today, I wanted to create a clear, transparent alternative.
Penny Auction Watch: What sets you apart from other penny auction sites?
DoughChest: DoughChest offers three unique auction types, two of which—Flash Auctions and Secret Ceiling Auctions—have free bidding beyond a set reserve price.
Penny Auction Watch: Can you tell us about some of the items that you offer/have lined up? Do your auctions run on a schedule?
DoughChest: We sell many items, including gift cards and iPods. We try to always have at least three auctions running at a time—this number will increase as the website grows. We also run Classic Auctions—typical penny auctions without reserves—multiple times a week.
Penny Auction Watch: What are the timer increments between bids and does this vary by auction?
DoughChest: Each of our three unique auction types has a different timer increment.
Flash Auctions only have a timer after the reserve is met—when bidding is free. The timing increment then starts at 20 seconds and goes down by a second for every 50 bids that are placed. However the timer increment is not allowed to go less than 2 seconds.
Classic Auctions however—as the name suggests—have a constant timing increment of 15 seconds and have no reserve period.
Penny Auction Watch: How much are your bids?
DoughChest: Bids cost around $1 per bid—however we frequently offer specials. Also, two of our auction types have periods of free bidding.
Penny Auction Watch: What are your shipping costs? How long does it usually take for users to receive their items?
DoughChest: We often sell products such as online gift cards that do not have any shipping costs. When there is shipping on a physical item, we always keep the costs as low as possible. We always ship products within two days of payment.
Penny Auction Watch: What states/countries are you open to?
DoughChest: We operate only in US dollars and most of our customers are US-based. However we will ship to most countries for an additional shipping fee.
