    Default Real prizes

Before anyone even asks. YES WE WILL BE GIVING out real prizes on September 1st including a mini-cruise and an iPad. We will not just be giving away $10.00 items. I expect us to go for several thousand dollars that day in giveaways and I expect to have at least 300 Beta testers since we are being very generous in our giveaways. Provided that there are not any foreseen bugs, we will officially launch September 23rd.

Look for TV commercials on discovery and the travel channel. We have over 200k allocated into advertising and will may even auction away a new Yamaha WAVE RUNNER as a grand prize opening weekend.
We believe that if you do not do this in a big way, chances are against you.

Our goal is to have 10,000 or more people signed up for our opening September 23rd - 26th weekend. At least that is what we are striving for.
Believe it or not 200k goes very very fast though it is a large number and there are never any guarantees.
We hope our "REDEMPTIONS" for free items will really swing people our way. We are located in South Florida and have a cut quite a few deals with cruise lines down here and we are only 5 minutes away from the HARD ROCK CAFE CASINO so you can expect a lot of our offerings to be cruises and Free hotel stays and show passes to the Hard Rock. Right now it looks like a 70-30 ratio on items versus vacations.

Look for a lot of changes to the sites - vacation4pennies and vacationforpennies(the sister support site) over the next few weeks.
Our TV commercial and Our video tutorial should be posted by then.

Again parts of the site are being updated but everything WILL BE in place by September 1!

This sounds great! I love beta testing. Do we need to pre-register or just show up September 1st?

    Folks,
Please ONE EMAIL address per user. We have had several people try to sign up multiple times with different email addresses. We canceled ALL of their email addresses. Please give some one else a chance to play and win for free. Register only once to be a beta tester. Thanks

    Default Emails and bid credits.

Several people have emailed us with the same questions so we are going to post the answers here for all to read. Please post any new questions right here in this forum as we check it daily and we can reply so everyone knows what is going on.

    Q. I only received 5 bid credits-not 50.

    A. Everyone who joins for Beta testing will receive the full 50 free bid credits by the end of August.

    Q. I joined but forgot to put the word BETATESTER before my user name, now I can't rejoin for some reason.

    A. Please follow the directions on our site in the future. For now, we will let you rejoin, but you must rejoin using a different email address. Upon request we will delete your entire account so you can rejoin using your old email address.

    Q. I didn't receive the confirmation e-mail

    A. Check your JUNK or SPAM folder for it.

    Q. Do I have to pay anything.

    A. No- Only if you win an item at action you will have to pay the $10 shipping charge, if there is one. However all items are worth a LOT MORE than $10.

Default Tell us what you like to see.

We want to thank everyone for the overwhelming response we have been receiving in our request for Beta testers. We have decided to add another 10-15 items to give away September 1st and welcome any suggestions "as to what those items are" from PAW members. In other words, tell us what kind of things you would like to see us auction off. Thanks

    Default Still have some openings

We still have room for a few more BETA testers on September 1.

We are giving away a lot of nice things that day and all beta testers get a free 50 free bids. We are not OPEN to the public that day which means ONLY beta testers can be winners. We are still going to add a couple of more tablets or ipads on this giveaway and maybe another cruise.

You have NOTHING to lose and everything to gain by being a BETA tester so go to the vacation4pennies site now and sign up to be a beta tester.

    Default Auction Opinion

I would like to see the entire bid history displayed on both open and closed auctions. Also, I didn't know you couldn't stop the auto bidder after you set it. Guess I should have read how it worked before I invoked it, but I was in the middle of an auction and wanted to see how it worked against another bidder that was using it at the same time. I got lucky and somehow won the auction, Yeah!!!! After the auction was over I accepted the auction and made payment with a credit card via paypal. It is still displaying make payment even after I made payment. I don't know if this is a glitch or if it processes the payment before it is marked as paid. Overall, you seem to have a good site, I didn't experience any glitches or problems in the auction. I will be looking forward to September 23rd!

    BetaTester119 --aka MagicalEyes, MissDemeanor

I would be interested in knowing what happened to the winner of the camera also.

The winner of the headphones disappeared as well. That does not look right for a new beta testing site.

I think I have an explanation.

The rules state that once you win something, you are supposed to stop bidding. The winners of those items continued bidding.

I emailed the site, and the basics of their response was that their system was supposed to block someone after a win, but it did not work, so they had to manually remove those people.

Although, I still see other winners who are still bidding, I imagine the site hasn't caught up to those people yet.

    Default Timers

I forgot to say that I wasn't particularly fond of your timers when the auction is nearing an end. For each bid that was placed, 10 seconds were added to the clock. Also, in the auction I participated in I saw "Auction ending in a few seconds" (or something along those lines). So many bids came in the clock went back to over 7 minutes. During those 7 minutes the greeen flashing "ending in a few seconds" message was displayed briefly several other times possibly making one think it was going to end even though there was still time on the clock.

On the main page, the timers lag a lot.

I watched one auction end and it looked like a glitch. The timer skipped ahead from 3 to 1 and didn't freeze. It was for the Nano. Since we're all in beta testing code, I don't know who else was involved- I think AMCoffee might have been one of the last bidders, but not the winner- maybe he/she noticed.

I saw that as well on the ipod. Wasted about 20 bids because of it. Was not very happy

You can check the last 5 or so bids on all the ended auctions. There needs to be a better link to it though. I noticed the nano glitch quite a few times. I also noticed they should be quite happy as many bid packs were bought tonight.

    Hello bigtime,

I was the winner of the nano. I had the auto bidder set and had gotten up to get something to drink and when I came back it said auction ended and I was the winner. I did not see those final seconds so I can not attest to anything. I figured AMCoffee was one of my opponents and if something happened, I don't really know what to say because I wasn't watching.

WHat I find amazing about this is that one of the first winners is still bidding on auctions, (betatesterjl). How can they flag a winner of an auction that quick and delete the user but a previous winner is still bidding? Something doesn't sit right with that.

I wouldn't. Betatester d might have been throttling, if he is top bidder, he bid on top of himself, nobody is to blame for that except for betatester d.

Of course, the site should be designed to not allow someone to place bids on top of themselves, but this IS a beta test to determine where the quirks are.... as a beta test, anyone bidding enters into it knowing there could be glitches, the whole reason this site is doing this is so that they don't go live with these glitches, and people sign up to HELP them to do that - any items won are just icing on the cake.

I didn't see for certain, but there is also a betatesterJH bidding, I think that might be the issue.

I'm sure the people running this beta tonight have had their hands full, and tried to catch winners, but may not have been able to stop all of them in time.

This is what BETA TESTING is all about.

Congrats on your win Magical Eyes. I didn't bid on that auction, was watching and counting.

Something else I see is that the description of the autobiider says that it will bid within the last 10 seconds of the auction. No can do. It bids as soon as someone else bids, no matter how much time is on the clock.

Has anyone else noticed that the clock is counting down by 2 seconds on all auctions now?

A glitch, I'm sure. Better to find out now than on a live site.

Another issue that needs to be addressed is if they plan on keeping their bidbuddy system the user should have more control over it. It should be set to allow you to choose when you want it to go off.

I had no idea we could purchase bids...I never even saw that option when I was on the site...I saw where you could buy them, but there was nothing there. darn it!!! Well, congrats to all who won...I noticed those who had tons and tons of bids were not the ones who won...most winners won with just a couple, even just 1 bid...of course I wasn't that lucky!! lol
I tried to bid on the Coach bag right when it started and it wouldn't accept my bid..it went from 10 seconds to 4 seconds and I had tried bidding on both of those times but it didn't register. The rest of the night most of my bids registered but I really didn't like the timer...it was aalll over the place.

Same here with the nano. You sure as heck got yours a lot cheaper than I did! But I'm still very grateful for the actual win! Congrats to you as well
