    Cool Just started

Hello, I just started doing the penny auction sites. Right now I am currently unemployed but looking. I recently lost my job back on November 2009. I do have a Broadcast Journalism degree that has gone nowhere for me. Right now I'm looking for job, mainly in Customer Service that will not only pay the bills but also to replace my car. I am currently receiving unemployment benefits from the state for the time being. I also played poker tournament when I was employed at the time. The most I won was $5K at the Bellagio back in 2004.

As for the penny auctions related. So far I won five auctions on two different sites and they all came from free bids and most from beginner auctions. Three wins on Wavee including two Amazon gift cards and wireless keyboard and wireless mouse. I also have two wins on RockyBid as they gave out a generous 20 free bids. One on a beginner auction for a $15 gift card on Amazon and one on a regular auction for a $10 Amazon gift card.

So far I've been burned on the regular auctions since I was aiming for a video game. I want to look for the auction sites where I don't have to spend a lot to win bid. Basically I want to win with the bang for my buck deal. I would like some help there. I also help others the legal way since I hate cheaters and bots. I believe in fair play since I'm a big soccer/football fan. So that's me right now and I hope I will enjoy this great community.

Hello and Welcome! Study each site and watch for slow times to bid to get good deals. Get to know who the power bidders are on each site so you don't get burned. Also, try the sites with buy it now option so at least if you loose you can apply your bids to the purchase price. Take a look at Bid Pigs (they have free bidding on Fridays, check site out for more details), Bid Bandit Auctions or BidFather. In the past I would have recommended BidBlink but recently it has gotten crazy with folks bidding way past retail price but the bids are only $.40 and they have buy it now.

There is great reading and advice here so take advantage of it. Good Luck in finding a job and Good Luck with your bidding!

Welcome y2p! You may want to look at other types of PA sites. I like sitnbid.com's format, although they are down right now. I really enjoy their format because there is actually a real strategy involved. Also, I just opened a site you might enjoy. I say this because you said you play in poker tourneys which leads me to believe you understand how to calculate odds and implied odds. Check out our site and if you'd like to sign up, I will give you some bids to get your feet wet with...

I am assuming you play Texas Hold'em NL tourneys? Do you ever play cash games? Do you watch poker on TV? Heard anything about a new season of HSP on GSN?

Well basically anything related to poker is on my DVR for viewing. I play NL and Limit Tourney online and at the casinos.

What is you're site since I'm interested.

    My site is speedyfinger.com.

Have you seen Pokerstar's "Loose Cannon" show? I love the format of it, and keep waiting for a truly wild and crazy "Loose Cannon!" I wish they would get Durrrr on there, I enjoy watching him play. Especially against Laak.

Thanks, I'm checking out the site as I speak right now.

I never heard of the Loose Cannon show, but I do know that Tom Dwan will not be in any Pokerstars TV Show and neither will any FTP pros as well and vice versa from this point forward except reruns of Poker After Dark.

Poker Stars = The Big Game on Fox

Full Tilt Poker = Poker After Dark on NBC.

Thanks for the advice. I do know that after reading the reviews. I usually stay away from the most popular sites and look for some great ones that are basically diamonds in the rough.

    Thanks.

Yep, I'm on Wavee. I about about to bid on the auction that you won, but when I saw the bidding pattern, plus the limited amount of bids that I have, I just couldn't. Do you have any good tips?

    Yeah, I've seen you too.

Well actually three months ago on one site which was 5050 and I hated it.

Then I wanted to find any legit sites out there. My first win(s) were on RockyBid in the middle of last week on two small Amazon gift cards, but I couldn't win anything else there. So searched on Google for some good penny auction sites. For10Cents came up.... biggest mistake I ever did, which I did another thread in the red flag section.

Then I came to this site and read the forums and started to use Wavee. From that point on I've enjoyed Wavee. I've also using other good sites that I've read on this forum and enjoyed every minute of it.

    Default Welcome aboard

Hey Y2P Welcome aboard and good luck. Remeber much like poker it pays to watch and learn and develop a strategy based on the others bidding style. Get to know the other players on Wavee and you will soon learn when and when not to jump into the waters. I would concentrate on the bid packs first and build your credit bank first as you don't need to spend your Unemployment checks on bids. Good Luck

Thanks for the advice. No, I only spent two bid packs on that site. I recovered both of the funds by winning a big giftcard on another site with free bids. So my spending on bids is very minimal at this point.

Yeah basically I'm concentrating on the small auctions. I've seen you a lot on the site, especially yesterday. I did bid against you on the auction last night, but the only reason why I did that was that Mega-Win was at 99% and I wanted to hit it for 100 credits, which I just missed since I noticed that they was a delay at Zero Seconds where I was the winning bidder and almost won that "big prize" until a very last second bid. It would be great if I won it, but I was only there for the mega win, but after it was hit, I stopped bidding.

But my long term plan is basically start small until I build enough bids to go big.

    Once again, thanks.

Welcome to the forums... great introductory post I wish you success with your bidding and good luck with finding work... I hope you manage to find the job you are looking for. Maybe you could contact some of the P.A sites as I can think of several that could most certainly do with an improvement to their customer service team.

    Hey thanks for replying.

If there's a penny auction site based in Orange County, California... I would definitely apply.

I'm pretty sure you would be able to work for most of them online given the nature of the business? A good line of communication to your bosses and you'd be set to go
