Bid66: I was in the import/export business and was looking for an outlet to distribute my products. I came across penny auction sites and it looked like a fun way to distribute my products.
Penny Auction Watch: What kind of items you plan to start with?
Bid66: The first items will be a $166 bid pack, a $266 bid pack, a laptop, a Wii, omaha steaks, a garmin, a grill, an electric roaster, and an LCD tv.
Penny Auction Watch: Is there anything that will set you apart from all other penny auctions?
Bid66: Bidders will have a watch list where they can add only those products they want to watch. You can arrange the products on your watch list in any order. By being able to arrange your watch list you can watch those with the shorter timer without having to scroll down your page. Our chat room allows us to chat with bidders in real time. We will be taking
product suggestions from our bidders. We will have a 24 hour 1-800 customer service # for our bidders to be able to call us for support.

What is it with all the new site that come on here bulding up their big grand openings with hard start dates they never open on time or for that matter at all. It has to make you wonder, a real buisiness person would not promote a grand opening of their auctions site unless they were indeed ready and prepared. I know Paw has interviewed them and all but this certainly reflects on their buisiness practices, and has to get you wondering are they legit.

Can you tell me why most penny auction site only have paypal payment??? Only few penny auction site have credit card processing. I feel like most scam site don't want to have credit card processing..

Actually I would feel more comfortable with a site that had paypal as an option over authorize.net, google checkout, or some other method. If paypal gets suspicious over your activity they will freeze your account and make you jump thru hoops to prove that you have the items you are selling in stock, among other things. Also, paypal buyers can chargeback "scam" payments.

We use authorize.net thru qualified processing at work and I've been taking credit card payments for 5 years and they've only questioned payments two times out of thousands of credit card transactions...and one of those was actually AMEX who called and had me provide certain information before they would process the payment, had nothing to do with authorize.net. Friday I did 3 back to back transactions over $10,000 for one of our accounts who used 3 different credit cards and today authorize.net called me and questioned me about it and asked that I provide invoices to match the amounts. That is the FIRST time they've ever done that. Paypal won't even let you have an international transaction over $100 without holding it for 21 days! As a seller, I hate paypal, but as a buyer I actually prefer it.

PayPal will not cover payments for bids because they consider it digital products. I tried it with Bidlew and got turned down. Tried it again with PennySold and got a refund. Guess it all depends on which Account Rep handles your case.

Paypal do not cover auction site. I put so much money in scam site and never win anything. After 2 or 3 months later, They were closed down with out any reason. Also, Bidsticks.com never shipped out my laptop and I explained to paypal and opened dispute. Bidsticks.com said to paypal that those payment was for digital delivery which was not. Also, I have proof that I printed out won item from bidsticks.com. Paypal closed dispute the reason they had digital delivery. Even other scam site too. Can not have money back even you said scam site... Paypal is not safe... And I guess all scam penny auction owner know about that...But if you use credit card payment options, It take some time to investigate. but you get money back if you have proof...I guess that is why most scam site don't have credit card processing...

Did you try phoning PayPal? You get much better results if you talk to one of their reps rather just file a complaint online. Also, when you pay for a won auction/shipping, state that on your PayPal payment. It then becomes a tangible item and not digital.

I did spoke with paypal and sent message to bidsticks.com. Paypal always said they understand. But when dispute has been closed, they could not help it. Also, If you want to claim, You must claim within 45 days. Bidsticks.com delivery schedule was 8 weeks. So, If you wait 8 weeks, it is too late for claim. Even you put the dispute, it will be closed without money back... Same thing with Bidlew.com, grababid.com and other... Most of those scam site only have paypal accounts. I don't feel like can trust when they have only paypal payment option...

That is one crazy software design. Even though the auction are shown to be paused, the site is refreshing the auction details more than once a second.

I was just there in the chatroom and got kicked out for asking pertinent questions. The chat is bots witrh a few of us real people. I was watching and two were having a conversation and they were responding to each others questions faster than you could read and then type.

Some were discussing how big the bid pack they bought, this is problematic if it is real.

Also watched part of one auction the timer is a 2 minute reset, this is rediculas especially with most of the bids above the 1 minute mark. Again BTW OUT

It is crazy, I bought a lot of bids on Buzzerbids.com thinking I had a chance at winning something but I almost wondered if that bella person was real she dominated the chatroom there and she won nearly everything, I noticed in this chatroom on Bid66 bella talks with the others and then mentions calling them on the phone. This same thing happened on buzzerbids. Buzzerbids is now gone, the software format looks exactly the same and the timer is 2 minutes on both. I too am pretty leary. What did you ask for them to kick you out BTW? Another thing that annoyed me on buzzerbids was the admins would always say LOOK whenever the timer countdown got down, I wasted many hours on that site.

I see the past items, maybe their time clock is just off.

I too was kicked and banned on Buzzerbids chat room.

Also, domainwhois for bid66 is private. Not cool for a company that is taking money from you to be so anon.

Signed up and got the 10 free bids, also bought a small bid pack. Won 20 free bids in the chat room as a giveaway. They don't have a Bid Buddy system, but when I placed a bid I was immediately outbid. Went to the chat room and asked how it was possible to be outbid before my bid was even registered. Admin said it was because they had so many people bidding. No, there was only one other bidder at the time (who eventually won). When he came to the chat room he said it was because he was continually clicking the bid button. Tried doing that on the next auction. Same thing happened and would be immediately outbid -- and when I say immediately, I mean my name NEVER appeared on top. I don't know, maybe it's possible? Personally, I won't be investing any more in Bid 66 till I start hearing good things about them on the PAW forum. I just didn't get a comfortable feeling there.

OK, I have decided I do not like Bid66. I don't like their win limits of 3 per day. I don't like the chat room. I don't like the fact that I feel like an outsider when I'm there. I don't like the fact that when you ask a technical question in the chat room that they ignore you or immediately the Admin says "OK let's start another auction now" to avoid the question. I don't like that it seems as if they wait for certain people to show up before starting certain auctions. I'll use up my bids there and will definitely NOT go back.

I got my free 10 bids from signing up from a while back. I burned through those quickly not winning an item getting outbid by the same person everytime.

However looking at their data from alexa.com it appears 66% of their traffic comes from pakistan. While that may not be a big deal, it seems to throw up a red flag for me. All i know is that they won't be getting any of my money. Just my opinion though.

Hi everybody, I'm Bella. Let me tell you a little bit about myself. I started bidding on Bidstick and that's where I met several people in the chat room. "Twins" was the customer service rep there.I have since become friends (on line at chatango.com) with a few people and we keep in touch. When we realized Bidstick had bots, I was the second person to sound the alarm to other bidders. After most of us left Bidstick, a new site called "Buzzerbidz" was getting ready to open. Those of us that kept in touch liked the idea of Buzzerbidz because they had a chat room, and we were just a "chatty cathy" bunch. Yes, I chat a lot but I have never been an owner in any bidding operation. This isn't the first site that has complained about the way I bid (heavily at times) and I really don't understand it. Have you checked out some of the bidders on "Bidcactus"? Now THOSE are some crazy bidders at times! But to each his own I say. As far as "Twins", she is not allowed to talk about where she used to work (bidstick) due to a lawsuit against Bidstick. I have seen a few of your names in the chat room of bid66, and I have tried on more than one occasion to talk to you with no reply. I just wanted you all to know I am a real human being, a real bidder (foolishly at times) and that I have feelings too. As far as "bid66" goes? Those of us that do keep in touch have noticed heavy losses, while new names that NO ONE has ever seen before on ANY bidding site are winning for mere pennies. If you have been watching Bid66 lately, you would have seen me and 3 others lose considerable amounts over small items to new name bidders, and 2 names that have won MUCH BIGGER items than Bella won, but are no longer bidding. THAT in itself should tell us all something. You may not like "Bella" and you may not want to say hello to me, but we should ALL be wary. Oh and as far as "Bella" talking to people on the phone??? I have severe fibro myalgia, can rarely leave the house and have very little contact with the outside world. Two other bidders have the same desease, and we share info on what meds help and what to stay away from. For the past 4 years, a chat room has been my primary link to the outside world, and it hurts to know that some of you would judge a person before you get to know them.
