Re: the site being for sale. I just want to be clear the code would be "encoded" and not open - all stylesheets/look & feel code is open and modifications can be requested by Jeremiah. This would be to protect Jeremiah's hard work on the B&F Script the site runs and protect other users/PA owners. Thanks ...

I am sorry to hear that you are shutting the doors. PA sites can be very time consuming and hard monetarily. I wish the best of luck and it is good to see you have a time frame on handling things.

Thanks for the kind words from you and others already. I have already issued refunds to some of the users with the largest Bid balances. I figured this was the best way to tackle it. Get the people with the most money "due" settled first. Some of you may have received the refund emails. I ask you share details of this with others so other users will know the refunds are coming and for real. Thank you. -Nate

Glad to hear you're ok! With two kids that age I'm amazed you ever got anything done! Kudos to you for doing this the right way, it's something we don't see very often.

    ps How 'bout it, Penmaster?;)

It definitely is hectic. I just found that each week things got farther and farther from the level of service/traffic the site started/progressed to. So until all Bids are refunded and remaining Wins shipped I will dive back into this full force and give it my all until the end of September. I had a great time, don't get me wrong. It wasn't so great losing a good deal of money, but that is the risk we and investors take. Thanks ...

    To clarify refunds of Bids:

If you won a Pickle Pack of 25 Bids (the only one we offered), and for example your current Bid Balance is 100 - since I don't track Bids "Won" vs Bids "Bought", here is what I am doing. This is the only solution I have and I think it is fair.

So again, you have 100 Bids, 25 of them were "Won" since I can tell you Won a Pickle Pack. I will subtract 25 Bids from the 100 - leaving you 75. Now I will ADD back the Bids you spent trying to win the Pickle Pack. So if you spent 15 Bids trying to Win the Pickle Pack (and you Won), I will figure your refund of Bids total @ 90. You would get $54.00 back.

I am not going to even try and determine who bought Bids when I offered a Special. That's too much work and I will let that one "slide". Comments/suggestions on this?

Sorry to hear that your site is shutting down. Wish I could help you, but I have my own problems (specifically looking for a job to get a steady flow of income). I also wish I could buy the site as well, but it seems that many PA sites are shutting down.

Thanks. I have settled, I believe, all the pending Wins/Shipments except for about 10-12. Those will be addressed tomorrow. I have also processed about $1,000 in Refunds tonight via Authorize.Net.

I should have no problem meeting those deadlines I set. 9/15 for all Wins delivered and 9/30 for all Refunds processed. Thank you.

Sad to see your site go. I know I received my Visa gift card from two months ago. I really need to know the ropes of running a PA site. It seems SpeedyFinger uses a different approach to PA and seems to work somewhat well. Makes me wish I have my own way of running a PA site. I'll just have to graduate college with my business degree in Spring, then look out for potential PA sites. One of my professors is a consultant to those who want to be executives and also coaches people on getting those executive promotions.

Just wanted to give Picklebid a big thumbs up for taking care of all my oustanding issues. I have already received a refund for my existing bids and they sent me E-cards for my outstanding auctions (only had 2) I was still waiting on. Hopefully everyone else is being dealt with the same as I was. I don't think they fell too far behind in the shipping department which should make the shutdown process that much easier for them.

Thanks again Nate for a swift handling of any outstanding auctions/issues.

    Default Status Update from PickleBid.com

Just a quick update. I am happy to report that 98% of all pending Wins have been shipped (via email of course). I do owe a few Pickle Soaps/Terrified Pickles and I will get those out shortly. If anyone is waiting on a Win please give it until tomorrow evening (sometimes GiftCertificates.com takes a while to send the messages) before letting me know you didn't get it!

As for the Bid Refunds - we made more progress on Refunds tonight as I am sure many of you can attest to. Please hold off on any Charge Backs - we have only had 1 thus far and I settled it before it officially became an issue. As I stated before, my plan was to get users with balances of 25+ Bids settled 1st. Not that anyone is less important, but this method has made it easier to track.

I still stand by the dates I outlined before, 9/15 for all pending Wins settled and 9/30 for any Refunds processed. Please contact me @ [email protected] with any and all questions and I will address them as promptly as I can. I truly appreciate your continued patience. -Nate

    Hi Caveninit,

You are absolutely correct! We are relaunching the site on 01/22!

We sent out a brief survey tonight to our existing members for feedback and suggestions to improve the user experience.

Hats off to Nate and Jeremiah for making this process a smooth one. We welcome everybody's feedback and ideas and look forward to an open dialogue with PAW members to make our site a trusted, fun and dependable site.

Feel free to drop me an email at any time at [email protected]!

    Craig
