    Default Skoreit

I knew there was something weird going on on skoreit. I just counted 61 bidders that just registered today and that isn't even half of them. I got tired of counting.

They're running a national radio campaign right now and giving away free bids.

That's funny. Lots of new bidders is a red flag to you, but your behavior isn't? As I pointed out when skoreit first launched, you alone won half or more of all the good items that went cheaply in the first weeks. Lately I've seen you bidding thousands of bids pointlessly against powerbidders. No wins of course, and you had to know there was no chance of winning. On another thread you are expressing wonder at bidders paying twice retail, when it is you who are jumping powerbidders to make them pay twice retail. How's that working out for you? You may call yourself mouse, but I smell a rat.

Like bigtimewin said, they did just launch a national ad campaign with ESPN and Penny Auction Watch members are so far pleased with their experiences. Get the promo codes for 55 free bids: Skoreit Promo Codes

To receive the free bids all you have to do is redeem the following promo codes: ESPN, mikeandmike, and vanpelt by entering these codes by clicking "redeem" and then enter a valid cell phone number, you will then receive a verification code to activate your bids.

After watching skoreit for about 2 hrs now I have reserves on this site. Something doesn't sit right. Even if 100 new people signed up and each got all 60 free bids they would have used them all up 1 hr ago. Some of these names seem really fishy and after bidding upto over 14.00's they drop out of the auction? Doesn't make sense to use that many bids and leave. Also the site is registered under someone else's name than listed.

    Hey IceDragon,
What do you mean the name doesn't line up? I interviewed Joe a few months ago you can read it here: Interview with Penny Auction Skoreit.com

SkoreIt was the 8th most searched on Google today I'd say it looks like their ad campaign was just pretty successful, a lot of PAW members have received items from them & won them at pretty good prices.

    Hi Amanda

I have been watching and bidding here and there for the last 2 hours and the names, bids, etc do not match up here is one example:

    ddaavviiddw
    Auction My Bids High Bid
    Auction #4628 Samsung Series 4 22" LED HDTV $14.82
    Visa $100 Gift Card1¢
    Auction #4638 Visa $100 Gift Card $3.25
The Home Depot $50 Gift Card1¢
Auction #4639 The Home Depot $50 Gift Card $3.03
    Apple iPod Touch 32Gb1¢
    Auction #4694 Apple iPod Touch 32Gb $6.14
    Lenovo ThinkPad SL510 2.1GHz Laptop1¢
    Auction #4700 Lenovo ThinkPad SL510 2.1GHz Laptop $29.60

No one in the PA sites spends this kind of money and then drops out.
I have seen over 10,000 bids used in an hour of names i have never seen.

WRONG, they have been advertising on ESPN for well over a week on SVP show. The only reason you make a big deal about it now is because I posted the codes on the skoreit post yesterday

What date were the promo codes offered on the Radio? It's a big deal because massive amounts of people joined the same day and are driving prices up. The word free brings a lot of people.

Just looks like something rotten going on here. I went and played around bidding and watching today. Things just don't add up.
Ad campaign or not WAAYYY too many people with strange names, endless bids..dropping off only to start up on another auction.
New people do not bid like this. New people do not know how to use bid buddies their first few days of bidding & they certainly would not spend that much money only to drop off and run to another auction.
Another thing to consider. If the ad campaign has been running for a week now, WHY are there so many new people just today alone. They go and start endless bid buddies?
PLUS do the commercials state ALL of those promo codes ALL at one time, one ad..
OR were they not just compiled and placed on PAW by Dp..? sorry..JMHO..

What I don't get is why all these newbies are playing as if they have unlimited bids. I have been on Skoreit for months...I have never seen anything like this.
People just joining and using hundreds and hundreds of bids all day long...it's just crazy! Where the heck did they find these people? PowerBidders R Us???

That's exactly what I am seeing & I believe IceDragon is talking about.
That's not normal behavior for new people & the names are too wierd. Plus suddenly they disable the user profile link, now?

What I noticed today and yesterday really set off some red flags in my mind.
USUALLY....you get people setting bid buddies...once the buddy runs out, everyone jumps in out of the woodwork....it's always been like that and I expect it....what happened to me all day today...I would run out someones bid buddy and out of the blue, another bid buddy would start up....BEFORE that bidder could possibly know that bid buddy 1 was done because it was always after MY bid that the new buddy would fire after I exhausted the first buddy. WHY, every time, would another buddy start ONLY when buddy 1 finished and before they could know that buddy 1 was done? It was never like that before they changed the limits and such. I KNEW this site, I knew what to always expect, I knew how to PLAY there...it's a totally different game now and I don't like it and I don't like this feeling I am getting about the site. It saddens me to even think this way because while I have gotten good deals there, I have also spent a lot of money...I'm not upset that things are going higher...hell, most auctions I have won there I had to fight hard for....I am upset because I have lost some trust and faith in the site after seeing what has gone on all week...and it truly was my favorite site since the day I started playing there.

I wasn't actually saying you are part of their Public Relations team. My point was that since you are not you should not be reporting their PR claims as fact. There is a world of difference between what your first post said, that skoreit was the 8th most popular search term on Google for the day, and what the link shows, that skoreit was the eighth most popular term at like 5 AM.

As someone who recently quit Skoreit, it did not feel right. Running promos is one thing, but that many new bidders is another. I am sure it is nothing, but it feels off. For instance, people don't even wait for the timer to run down any more. The just keep bidding and when you look at the newbies bid history they are bidding on 10-15 different items at once randomly, but they keep going. Even the ESPN radio spot on Mike and Mike says to pick one auction and stick with it. However, Skoreit has always shipped my items fast.

Well said, Richard. Everytime an auction site gets multiple new users because they advertised nationally we get the powerbidders complaining that something looks fishy. Personally, if I owned an auction site, I would not rely on advertising only on PAW. This site did the right thing and obvisouly went to their Marketing 101 courses in college. Most of the sites only inform the PAW community and basically go under because the powerbidders win big ticket auctions for pennies each time.

    Way to go, Skoreit!

You both are hilarious. So you are saying I am a powerbidder? Wow thank you for that very unintelligent response. You know nothing about me nor do you know what I do. I seldom bid only as asked to betatest sites as I am an ex programmer of scripts. Second if you are that naive to the PA world that neither of you can spot common issues I would say either you are friends with the site owner or possibly shillers. ANY REAL PA user knows no new person is that good right off the start at setting up bidbuddies that perfectly orchestrated. Also there is no way that many bids were redeemed in under an hour. I logged more than 20,000 bids of certain users before they coincidentally hid information.

Powerbidder? Funny. Never once did I pay over half retail because I didn't have the nads. I just don't have the time to sit through all the auctions anymore. Just like Icedragon, you know nothing about me. This site became more sketchy so I left.

It's only going to get worst. The new names continue to grow everyday. What surprises me is these people found out how to locate new auctions before their listed in the upcoming. Their bid agents are currently running on an auction that is 9 hours out.

Thankyou for supporting my post. I think this is the best thing SKOREIT has done, Also eliminating profiles, I wish they would even go further and limit $ amount items per week and month. And these people on here saying I don't know them. Their correct, and I don't want to know them. And no I do not know any owners thru SKOREIT. But personally I believe SKOREIT will not miss some of these players that claimed they have left the site. Im sure their out looking for other sites to dominate

    Post Site owners

Any other site owners want to try ESPN radio? I here you can get 100% listeners and get 100's of new members on the same day.

This is a challenge! I want to see if another owner can reproduce the ROI from a radio ad.

    Default Wrong Richard

Skoreit was the only PA site I used and it will be the only one I will ever have used. They did an excellent job advertising and driving up their item auctions. Good business. Also, getting rid of profiles was a good idea from a business standpoint. I left, because my money will be better spent in stores now than on getting a deal. It is no big deal to me, but you seem to want to peg us in a hole. I have seen these other people on this thread on Skoreit win items and they are by no means power bidders. Soda plays smart, Cave works hard at the bids and Mouse seems to have a good handle on when an auction is at the tipping point. Myself, I had some good luck and not so good luck, but I came out ahead. I will not anymore on Skoreit, so why stay? Skoreit won't miss me, but that is not my point. It is the same as saying I don't shop at a certain box store. They don't care as long as new customers come. Relax, just wanted to throw out my opinion on why I left Skoreit. Quit while I am ahead. As far as bidding that is out of the ordinary, yes there is, but I can't say why.

I actually just found this site today...got my 60 free bids and won something. I don't know them either...I don't work for them nor do I sip tea in the morning with the owners. They did the right thing by advertising. Quibids and Skoreit should be role models for all penny auction sites out there.

Opa - what is Four loko??

Congrats on the win. What was it? Quibids. That one seems difficult. Any good strategy on that if I do chose to jump in on this PA adventure again?

Go on youtube and type in "four loko". It's the first video. Me and my homeboys made the video. I'm the one that gets out of the car in the beginning.

Wow you use Quibids as a good example? You must be really new to the PA scene. Any legit PA site that has a glitch and the customer has proof that they won an item should with no discussions be awarded the auction. Timer issues not showing bidders? No good site on a dedicated server has that many unfixed timer issues. Come back with a legitimate site to use as an example AFTER you do all of your homework..... dismissed!!!!!

No thanks opa. I would rather explain to the readers of PAW the truth and lies these sites are exploiting.

It's hard to win on Skoreit, no doubt. However, I've won EVERY bid battle into which I've entered there and I've entered each battle from the very start. You have to know which battle to pick and chose. For example, if you're going for a $200 gift card be prepared to battle it out and/or buy it now as the probability of the auction ending early is very slim.

I'm not saying that Skoreit hasn't cheated. I do not know that for sure. However, I do think that the power of advertisement and free bids works wonders. Additionally, I recognize a fair number of names on the site.

If you believe that there is something wrong with Skoreit, please investigate and present proof. I'd love to see it. No one likes to be ripped off.

    Default What the heck!!

Tonight I played Skorit and I must say, What the heck is going on there! I was in an auction from the very start for 100 bid Pack. All of a sudden there were dozen of random hits from bidders that bid 4 or 5 times and then quit and then a bid buddy would pop up for a bout 15 to 20 times and a dozen or so more randoms popping in and out.

I felt something was off and so I put in a lot of bids on my bid buddy just to see if something was strange and watched all the other bid pack auctions. They were ending up a reasonable amount at the end.. The one I was involved in went to 14.14 !!!! I finally just gave up and 6 bids later the auction was finished. If it smells like a fish and tastes like a fish.....

I will never be back and have instructed all the friends I directed there to get out now. Has anyone else ever had that happen or am I being paranoid?
