You're right. It's closed!Does this happen often? Did we do something wrong? Are we being punished? I need my Wavee thread fix
. Too broke to bid right now...at least I could read some new posts on here.

. Must have Wavee thread....
Is it just me, or did they really close the Wavee thread Again? I can't post on that thread

. Must have Wavee thread....
This is just an observation from a once Wavee addict who still reads the thread. I have noticed many little bickering episodes, many comments about "jumpers", and general bashing going on. To ME this is not a problem as this is a forum to post concerns but to others and most likely PAW Admnin, these things are against the rules. The ahole being tossed around really set her off I would imagine. If you go back to the first thread created by Amanda it is as follows.
Discuss & Review Wavee here, please refrain from labeling bidders 'jumper's & discussing others bidding style.
So perhaps the thread was off topic again.
Again, just my opinion and observation.
So we all have to be punished because of one or two people. Pretty sad...why not just ban the offenders for awhile? I guess I did talk about "jumpers" myself, but I don't think I mentioned any particular name. I always try to be very careful about that sort of thing. We are baaaaaaaad.![]()
There are lots of threads on here where people talk jumpers and PB's and mention them by name, which is against the rules. Looks like they're still open with active postings. One thread in particular has a LOT of bickering and a lot of people making direct accusations. Just makes me wonder why Wavee was locked. Why is it wrong to complain about the strategy used there, but okay to talk about it on other sites?
Is there a connection between PAW and Wavee?
This isn't the first time they closed the Wavee thread, and it probably won
t be the last. I guess we are just to passionate for the admin. I am locked out of bidding on Wavee until Monday,(win limit hit, and i wont bid on the $500+ auctions until they make changes to them) so I won't be posting much for the next couple of days anyway.
wow again? lol
I dont know what it is about the wavee thread. it gets so much "attention" it seems.
that thread wasn't even that bad.
Admin, I have been jumping around the threads (so to speak) and reading posts. It seems to me that if you are going to close the wavee thread you need to close about 50% of the others as well. Can you give the exact reason for closing?
Darn! I'm off on a long-weekend camping trip for the holiday. No Internet! Hope you all have a great 3-day weekend! Happy bidding and stay safe!
Maybe our thread will be open by the time I return.
I think they closed the thread because of my post and one other post from another member. This was regarding my two voided auction, which I am going to pursue. I let this go the first time, but it happened twice and I am going for both now!![]()
The auctions where:
213851 09/01/2010 Auction Purchase: HP TouchSmart 300-1025 20-Inch Black Desktop PC (Windows 7 Home Premium) Complete $0.77
AND
199551 08/12/2010 Auction Purchase: Apple Mac mini MC270LL/A Desktop Computer - 1 x Core 2 Duo 2.40 GHz - Ultra Small Complete $0.07
On the Mac, they said the others bid butlers didn't fire and on the second HP they said the server lagged. I have lost at least three auctions because of lag, the timer stops and you hit bid a thousand times, close the browsers and open it again. When you finally get back in the last bidder or bid butler won. When I send them an email, they claim everything went just fine. The lag was fine when bidding on the HP, but the people bidding where going the last possible second. That is a risky move and has cost me a few times. If anyone was bidding on the HP let me know.
What is strange after I won, both times the auction wasn't in the history just two seconds later. I knew when this happened the second time I was going to get an email that the auction is voided. I love Wavee, it's my favorite PA site, except for the fake reserves and the slow shipping.
I guess I lied before I did bid on the $500+ auction and Finally WON MY FIRST ONE! WOOHOO, been wanting a Mac Book forever, finally got one.
How rude! I didn't know f***t*** would j*** like that. I had always been respectful to other bidders, but when I get j***** like that, the games are on! We need to teach these newbies not to j*** as well!
Gphat, I think it was you who posted on the closed thread that you kept spreadsheets of all the auctions. It's good to know I am not the only one who does that, and I enjoyed reading your post.

Hey apbid - it's good to see you back on PAW.
Do you have a win limit on BD? The reason I ask is that it seems every time I go on you have either just won something or are in the process of winning something![]()
Hello everyone - it took a day or so to realize that the old thread was closed....who would have guessed it when that the thread was just started.
I am considering sending a suggestion to Wavee concerning the Halo trigger. The Halo was designed, according to Wavee, to be a fail-safe in case your computer, the Internet or their servers experience a lag and you fail to get your bid in. It turns out that this feature is now being used to considerable advantage by some in ways that, I suppose, it wasn't intended.
Halo Bids:
If you've ever found bidding to be stressful because you're afraid that your internet connection might hiccup or that you'll get distracted at just the wrong moment, you're going to love this feature. The frustration of potentially losing an auction due to external reasons is over! With your first bid placed on an auction, you will earn a Halo Bid which acts as your insurance against client-side issues or distractions. As long as you have a Halo Bid activated you are safe against any client-side interruption and can focus on strategy rather than stressing out. Check out our help section for more information on Halo Bids. We have worked hard to minimize external factors - YOU decide how much you save on our auctions (not your Internet connection)![\quote]
I would like to propose that The Halo can only be triggered if someone has placed a bid at least two minutes prior.
Let me know if you think two minutes is too long/short or have another suggestion.
I am in no way admin nor trying to tick anyone off but be carefull with statements like this. I have read that PAW admin does not like this stuff (labeling jumpers and using user names in a negative form) and that could be the reason for the constant closure of threads.
Hi apbid - I spent most of the weekend away from auctions and laboring for my wife.
I did manage to get a couple auctions in and would you believe someone "Haloed" me in a $100 visa card.(I'm guessing they were testing how it works but it got to be very expensive for everyone involved.)
I've seen it done to others but this was the first time I experienced it and its no fun. I have a new post-it on my monitor "He who lives by the Halo also looses by the Halo"

Good for you on your BIG win! I still have a long way to go. I'm not even going to try for something like that unless I have tons of bids in reserve.
Hey schmoop, did you have a good Holiday weekend.. That was a great win for dpo, right after he said I wont play on the over 500.. That's great I'm happy for him.. I have been on wavee since November and have yet to win one of those over 500. But, haven't really tried for awhile either.. Good to see you are back, good luck!!
Thanks, Mad! It's great to be back! By the way, I had 3 packages waiting for me from Wavee when I got home last night! Also, they answered my email regarding the $100 VISA card I won at the end of July. They said they are having trouble getting them, but offered to put $100 in my PayPal account instead! This is fine with me...I'll probably buy bids with it anyway. I really think they are trying to get caught up with their shipping.![]()
Wow schmoop how funny, I got the same response/offer for my Visa's as well today. I did get items last week and one of them I had won the week prior. That was quick and a nice surprise. On the visa cards they said they were switching from Wachovia to I think Wells Fargo and this was the reason for the delay. I noticed they have removed the Visa card from the 100.00 card auctions now. I really hope this is temporary though...
Hi guys I had my frst win on wavee on aug 26th, nothing big a 25 gas card- ive talked to them 3 times because I still dont have shipping info. Acording to their site you should have tracking number within 3 to 7 days. lol well they keep telling me that their printer is broke and thats why my cards are not shipping. Is this site legit or should I start the charge back process Ive heard the printer is getting fixed tommarro 3 times now lol
The jumpers were sure rampant on Wavee this morning! The whole courtesy thing kind of went out the window. Oh well, guess what "goes around comes around". I think there was only one name I recognized from the PA Watch Forum. Seems like I used to win a lot on Wavee, but for the last couple of weeks I've just been throwing money away. I might have to quit and find another site that is less known. My bank roll just isn't as large as what the competitions' seem to be. I really hate it because I enjoy the site so much. Bidders are really out for blood now...seems they'll pay twice retail price rather than lose! Oh well, maybe I can go back after I save up a bit more money! I'll just have to "watch" from afar and read your posts! Good luck to all of you! I'll be cheering for you!
wow is it just me or have u guys have trouble winning on wavee? i bought around 250 bids and when there is something i like "power bidders" always outbid me even if its something thats small, there always seems to be a "power bidder on every auction"....i used to win but now i cant...i cant even beat the newbies![]()
i feel like its always the same names winning![]()
Good luck MagicalEyes! I'll cheer you on as I lurk on the sites! nemisis54, I started PAing in early July and won tons of stuff on Wavee. Now it's impossible. I actually am a Newbie. I think things are changing. They are advertising and bringing in "new meat". I love Wavee...but, can't afford it anymore. My daughter figures it's because of the huge response Skoreit got from advertising. Soon all the sites will be overloaded. My only hope is that these new PAers are putting all of this on their credit cards and will soon overextend themselves! On a positive note....Wavee deposited $100 in my PayPal account in lieu of the $100 VISA card they owed me! What a great surprise to find this morning when I logged on! Did I buy bids? Noooooo......I moved it to my bank account. Why throw more good money away?????? I discovered something about myself today. What got me hooked on PAing was the thrill of winning. The thrill isn't there anymore because I can't seem to win! My new obsession is online casinos. OK....still an addiction and shouldn't be doing it...but, I can actually play nickels and still get the thrill. Way less expensive than bidding against the Power Bidders and the new Power Bidders! I might still do a little PAing here and there, but since the good deals might be over....not too often. I'll still be lurking, so hope you all do well! Take care!![]()
K....the schmoop is into the vino tonight. Not bidding on Wavee, but found a new spot. Just might be back...someday....someday. You guys are the best!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
samlert, Where are you?? This thread needs you
Did you go undercover in order to bid..![]()
Well, I found some forums that review online casinos, much like this forum for PAs. So far I've been using one called Rushmore. I play a particular game called "Double Double Bonus Poker" and want the option to bet nickels. Not all of them offer those 2 options. The biggest problem I've found is getting money into my casino account. Most credit cards don't allow you to use them to do this. Paypal doesn't allow it either. So, I've had to find a new place similar to Paypal that will allow money to be transferred back and forth. I found one, but seems to take a couple days for the money to go back and forth from my bank account!
Still enjoying PAing though. Just had to "tone it down" a bit. Found a couple of less popular sites. And...I'll still be lurking on this forum and watching Wavee for entertainment...just too rich for me now!
I think I enjoyed the wine a bit too much last night...that's what my head is telling me this morning!![]()
