An online auction site for which you purchase bids which are then used in auctions. If you win the auction, you pay the current bid price (in addition to the cost of the bids used) and any postage specified and then should receive the goods.

But you don’t get the goods and they never reply to emails, messages sent via their help pages or even to the dispute resolution service run by PayPal (through which the payments are made).

A quite sophisticated scam; the clues are there that it probably is a scam (bad spelling and grammar used throughout the site) but the use of PayPal lends it an air of respectability – that’s what fooled me.”

      if you have bought some bids and then realised that it is all a load of crap, is there any way of getting a refund on the unused bids?

        If you close your account they ask you to forfeit unused bids… I don’t know whether there’s a way to get it back but I agree it’s a load of crap. It can be likened to counting cards except it seems like they’re using software or employees from inside the company are watching it all play out and jump in at the last second. I feel like I sucker, but I know I’m never going near any sites like that again. You don’t get something for nothing…

    I joined Wellbid .com last week and won 3 small auctions . (3 x amazon gift cards)
    A lot of emails went to and fro and i feared the worst but today i got a phone call from their office in Cypress to confirm my id etc. Within 15 mins i received my auction wins in cash value to my pay pal account ,so thankfully i have to eat my words. I also won 3 small auctions, 3 amazon gift cards one of which is being kept until I provide my credentials. This is probably a scam to load info on a database and sell to who knows where. Avoid

      UNKNOWN TO WELLBID,

      And have only just discovered it today, research it for past 30 mins or so. From what I can calculate or tell
      IF THESE GUYS IN GREECE, WELLBID WERE LEGIT SITE.
      Giving away expensive consumer wanted products at very, very Low prices.
      WOULDNT IT BE FAMOUS,
      BIGGER, WELL KNOWN & FAR MORE USERS & POPULAR THEN EBAY, AMAZON OR CRAIGS LIST.

      Since it’s not, 1’s common sense would assume it’s a scam site, trying to make a few quick bucks off suckers.

      DONT BECOME A SUCKER.

    I’ve played on Wellbid.com’ and earlier today won a £15 amazon voucher and 200 bid pack. After the win I received and email I’m not impressed with. You have to verify your account and suggests including photo ID via driving licence, passport, utility bill, bank statement. You have about 10 days to reply or your account is blocked!! I’m not sending then anything like the above and have emailed then to ask why they require it after theyactivated my account, allowed to to buy bids with a verified PayPal account. You even have to add your address to register so what more do they need. It might be genuine but I’m sending nothing and will stick to ebay.. There is even a win limit to keep an eye on. Be warned!

    i have wasted around 300 pounds on well bid and i haven’t won any item. i have observed and i am sure that the auction is operated by auto bots. Auto bots automatically bids in auctions until the desired price is reached. its a nice way of looting money. you just spent money on bids but u cant get anything.

      You are absolutely right.

      The Wellbid auctions are tun by robots.

      When you look at statistics you will see the hundreds or thousands of bids spent for one auction – those are true.

      On other side you will see very funny – small and cheap finished auctions – those were won by robots and those actions are fake.

      More over the price of items shown by by Wellbid of all items is 2 times bigger than on the marked.

      I had lost 130 Euro and I’m win nothing except the bids, and I have same amount of bids as at the beginning.

      Do not use it.

    I was interested in wellbid but when I started to check the auctions I could not find any bidders that were not using auto bid . I would state that this is not normal activity as you will always find bidders bidding manually

    To find no users bidding manually can only mean that this is a scam and to be honest needs to be shut down for the sake of the genuine operators in this industry

    Or the operators need to explain themselves

    I have spent many hours studying, observing and monitoring countless auctions on wellbid.com, before plunging in with my own hard earned BIDs. And the site is plagued with bots. The only legit, bot-free, auctions seem to be the ones for begginers (users that have never won an auction). All the others have bots appearing whenever a human user is left alone at the auction (or is about to be left alone and win). Bots have the ability of knowing how many autobids you have left and so if you are in a autobid war with another human and you only have 5 bids to go and the adversary has 10, a bot will appear so that none of you wins the auction.
    They are fairly easy to spot too because of their computer generated nicks. Humans normally go for meaninful or at least “readable” nicknames whereas bots usually have random spelling and common formats, like: “agaekiert84”, “hicjitin29”, “aktywista”, “laselus86”, … But the easiest way to spot a bot is by seeing a nick like these ALWAYS PLAYING AGAINST A “NORMAL” HUMAN NICK/USER!!

    It’s a shame that no one can bring this scam to a halt. It’s a fun method of bidding because it envolves strategy, but not like this. You are defeated right from the start. Nevertheless I recommend people to subscribe the initial bid package, win a begginer’s auction and cash the profit directly to PayPal and never play again because you will not win anything before you spend much more than the value of what you win!

    They are a FRAUD – they would not verify auctions I had won until I provided them a copy of a photo id (they requested a drivers liscense or passport) and verification of an address & this they even suggested I send them a copy of a bank statement have nothing to do with them

    Wellbid is a blatant rip off, I’ve spent £300 trying to win on 2 items only to be outbid any normal person sat at home would have backed down ages ago, but they just kept bidding. These are either bots or staff bidding against you. Also the items are vastly overpriced by at least 30%

    If you have a Facebook account. out them and warn others, also write to Google so they lose their page rank.

    The ridiculous part is, they’d make a lot more money if they just played legitimately.

    I will never return

      Not necessarily. Not all of them are “scams” but some do legitimately scam people. I’ve won iMacs, designer handbags, kitchen items, TVs and tons more over the years, but there is definitely risk.

    I’ve played wellbid for the past few months. To begin with, I won nearly £700 worth of items. A kettle at £120, a 64GB flash drive at £70, a £100 amazon gift card and plenty of other things. It was going amazing and I was actually making a really good profit and not putting a penny more in to my account that they hadn’t paid for themselves. Then it all changed! I had 5-10 auctions in a row where me and one other were autobidding and as my auto bid was about to win, my bid became high bid because my competitor ran out and a new autobidder showed up in the last second preventing my win. Funny thing is, it’s always on the higher priced items where this happens, yet I have won lots of £15 gift cards without a problem!
    I’m not sure if my account got flagged for winning and not paying more for new bids and has now got bots bidding against it but it seems like, I pay for bids, I win, I use items converted into bids and I lose.

    Just joined wellbid on 30/12/2014 and was offered 2000 bids at half price £27-50 but when I went to pay for them they had gone and had to fork out £55 for 2000. I started to bid on a TV and within seconds someone had snapped it up for a couple of quid, then I bid on 2500 bids and the same thing happened only a few pence this time. Then I brozed through the items and saw an apple I phone and started the serious bidding, set up auto bid at 50 bids and within about five minutes they had gone and so have all the rest and won nothing. This site is a total rip off and I want to know how one person I watched bidding on a£15 voucher bid £40 in bids as I spent half an hour counting each bid from the same bidder, how does this justify or make sense or can some people not count. I reckon by the time the bidding stopped on this voucher it had made over £1000 in bids as it had reached over£3 when it finished. This is outrageous profit for those money grabbers. Wonder how many tens of thousands profit the upmarket goods each make?

    Full blown scam I found the as on austar (paid tv in Australia)
    I have spent the past 2hr hacking a account with free bids (to see if I could scam a ps4) I have been doing stuff like this for awhile many sites like PayPal take a day or so just to generate $50aud this took 2hrs (shit firewall, terrible server location and open network) these are things PayPal and eBay do NOT have
    I bided up to 100 times “cent by cent” and was always out bided I gave up when I fought it till the timer ran out and was still not the highest bidder (go figure you can’t win if you cheat) so I went to work on the gift cards they where very easy to win only a few bid attempts, a hr later revived a email that asked me to provide my personal info (Iam thinking of providing fake credentials) but as soon as I saw this I remembers how much you can do with a simple licence number
    I have a method of turn it into a phone bill, that into a bank account, those into a po box and those into medical insurance and all that into fresh ID card or birth certificate and the you have a pass port or a copy of it, whom ever owns this site can do a lot with alittle don’t fall for this please Iam a code monkey back that’s why I tell you this because he is much like me but turned to crime
    – don’t ever send copies of you ID/creds over email
    – always check where a suss email has come from
    – with the net if it’s to good to believe it truely is I have seen the internet grow and was able to make thousands befor bitcoins fell
    Stay safe I hope my insight was helpful

    I do believe wellbid auctions are controlled by robots;

    I do believe during the auction there is always at least a fake bidder against you
    If you go on playing this is evident, but I wouldn’t know how to prove it in court;
    I put under extensive mathematic screening Wellbid business: it emerges they are loosing a lot of money. This would drive broken any company, unless they are cheating on the software;

    Their headquarters are in Republic of Cyprus, but they have no business in there or in Greece; in this way there isn’t any fraud over there, and local authorities have no reason for investigating and putting them on trial.

    No it’s not, total scam, bidding against the users. If you need to spend money to find out, do it. Otherwise, just check the auctions taking place, for each currency unit it is sold for (1€ per example), they make 10 times the number that is on the green button to bid. If 9, for 1 €, they make 90€ in bids. So, if a 1500€ iMac is sold for 10€, they make 900€, so they lost (not the 600€ because they prices are ridiculous high, but they lost).
    Also, enter a product and check the average time that each one take. Calculate the time in seconds it take, and divide by 10, since all long lasting auction are “done” with Autobids, which take place when the counter reaches 0. Multiply by the number of bids each bid consumes (the green number on the bid button) and by 0,03 which is roughly the cost to the user to bid and by 2 (since for the auction to continue at least 2 bidders need to be there). Se the gap to the price of the item and ask yourself if they are in the world for charaty.

    The auctions that are not so much controlled by them, are bid packs, which you will eventually loose when you go for products you really want.
    You will eventually win some auction, like amazon gift cards, but thats it. Maybe one odd person gets lucky and they bots fail, or they are allowed to win with little investment, just for the sake of good word of mouth and get others in there to loose, or the same person getting back for more, but thats it. They exist to scam people.
