Have you tried The Wish Foundation (not to be confused with the Make-A-Wish Foundation) UK’s new lowest unique bid penny auction, WishFoundation.org.uk?
They’re currently offering a brand new Mini Cooper in the lowest unique bid format, and they plan to donate £10,000.00 to charity, but they do have reserves on their auctions. “The Wish Foundations complete costs on each individual Auction must be covered through placed bids even where an Auction item has been donated by a corporate supporter (“Costs”). This is done automatically through our online system.”
We noticed that their timers bounce down and back up again, they say this happens until their reserve is met.
According to the site and many online press releases, Amanda Holden, actress & judge of Britain’s Got Talent has put her name to the Wish Foundation, “a UK grant making trust, which raises cash for children in conjunction with online retailers.”
We contacted Ms. Holden’s publicist and found out that she has approved the use of her images and does support them. We contacted Peter Newman, Chief Executive of Dreams Come True, a non-profit that has been helping terminally ill children since 1988 in the UK, he told us that they have received a donation from The Wish Foundation that is being used to pay for the Dream of a sick boy who wants to visit the Grand Canyon.

“The site offers visitors the chance to buy cars, holidays, electronic items and many more, worth up to 20,000.00 each, by placing bids costing from 50 pence each, on the Foundations online reverse auctions.
Yesterday Amanda said: ”A healthy, happy child is an absolute blessing to any parent. Being the parent of a child suffering from any serious or life limiting illness is simply unimaginable.
”The Wish Foundation is raising funds in order to grant a cherished wish for as many children suffering from serious or terminal illnesses as possible.
”The Foundation works with registered charities such as Dreams Come True, who have been granting wishes for children in the United Kingdom for over 25 years.
”I am delighted to be supporting their work.”
The site was launched on May 3rd as www.wishfoundation.org.uk.”
