What do you get when you combine the excitement of a penny auction, the great deals on fashion found on a site like Zulily or Hautelook, and the deal section of Groupon and combine them?
I think you would get something a lot like this new deal site launched by CEO and founder of popular penny auction site Quibids.
Matt Beckham of QuiBids is the brains behind this entertainment “auction/shopping” site for deal hunters, TumbleDeal.com.
Very similar to other “price drop” or “Dutch auctions” we’ve seen in the past, at Tumble Deal the prices of each item fall until someone buys the item.
The concept really reminds me of my favorite – now closed price drop deal site Sneakpeeq.
How does a Tumble Deal work?
See an item you like?
All you have to do is hit “freeze” at the price you want to pay for the item, purchase the item and it’s yours.
Of course, the item is saved in your cart for only a few minutes, if you don’t buy it at the price you “froze” it at you forfeit the item, you can also change your mind and remove the item from your cart. Let’s say I wanted this Coach Signature Small Margo Carryall – I can see what the current price is and “freeze it” then buy it, or I can wait and hope the price continues to drop without someone else freezing it and buying it.
This Coach Signature Small Margo Carryall is offered on Amazon Prime right now for $193.89, not saying that this is indeed the lowest price for this Coach handbag, but the current price I was able to freeze it at $160.03 + $1.99 is cheaper than the item being offered by an Amazon seller. I removed it from my cart and as you can see below, the price went down to $155.
