ZipaBid Ripoff, or not?

Have you tried ZipaBid?

2nd Update: It could be possible that the issues with ZipaBid were caused by technical difficulties and there still are technical difficulties with the site. It looks like Site Clonez, where Zipabids software is from is a pirated version of another Swoopo Clone software. It still looks like it has problems, as there is  the ability to bid against yourself and the autobidder counters are not totally accurate as of yet. The reader who submitted this post on ZipaBids also tells us that he just managed to win a PS3 and was able to pay for it. He says that he is not ready to call it safe/legit at this point but it is certainly leading in that direction. It’s a plus that they did refund him!

*UPDATE* ZipaBid is now back online.

Our reader has been in contact with the owner of ZipaBid and so far it looks like they are having a problem with their site, the owner has refunded him $100 out of $250 as well as 150 bids back into his account.

He will not refund all money that is correct, according to his message he will:

Date: 2009-07-27 09:34:34
Name: Alec Book

Message:

Yes we give out a bunch load of stuff, some people have won mulitable things. yes it is possible to win something. ill refund half and give you back 100% of your bids, once our website is up.

Best regards,

so that should result in $125 (but I feel he meant 1 of the $100 packs) back AND all of my bids (which would be a net gain assuming I can actually win something).

I’m certainly not sold that this is a legit site, but to at least get some money back out of it eases the pain.

It’s a good sign that they have refunded him and quickly, we’ll continue to watch.

Apparently they purchased the Swoopo Clone script from Site Clonez and are having some problems:

We just received an E-mail *(Thank you!)* from a reader who believes that ZipaBid is using bots on their auctions, here is what he has to say:

I was looking for newer bid sites to bid on (with less traffic) and came across this one. I signed up and proceeded to buy some bid packs (After not seeing any negative feedback on your site about them, or in the forums). I can just about say with 100% certainty that they are indeed using bots and the site is fraudulent. This is all on top of the fact that their bid system doesn’t work correctly (it counts too many bids and the autobid about 60% of the time fires 1 bid more than you entered). I ended up buying $250 worth of bid packs to win a ps3 or xbox 360 – neither of which was accomplished. They have a fake bidder entered on each of their auctions (or did last night) with who knows how many bids in it. I can send screenshots of this auction http://zipabid.com/productdetails.php?pid=76&aid=640

zipabid BID PENNY AUCTIONS

In which I was the only other bidder – I used 265 bids in this auction (you tell me how that’s possible). (total was 5.17 – .10 [starting] = 5.07) Half of that would be 254? I have sent them 2 messages stating my intention to take action if they do not issue a full refund. Their dispute clause will not hold water legally as it is a punitive damages clause, on top of the fact that if the site is indeed fraudulent it is completely irrelevant. The last thing I will mention is that for each of the auctions I saw there was a single autobid user with no competition the entire night (a different one for each auction, except the bmw guy for both ps3s) I simply ask that you warn other users about this site. While it is remotely possible that some of their auctions do not include bots, it is very unlikely that all of them are on the up and up given my experience last night.

That’s why online pharmacies is becoming more popular over the last years. Well-known are remedies which are used to reduce inflammation caused by inflammation of the skeletal muscle etc. There were only few examples. Did somebody tell you about canadian generic Viagra? Maybe you along know about the matter. Sexual dysfunction can be a result of a physical condition. Even when it has a physical reason, psychological problems can make the disorder worse. Sex drive problems are so commonly a product of how you feel that there is slightly to that “headache” saying after all.

DO NOT USE ZIPABID, IT IS A COMPLETE RIPOFF. THE OWNER OF THE SITE USES SHILL BIDDERS AND BOTS. I HAD A CONVERSATION WITH HIM THROUGH THE TICKET SYSTEM AND HE IS A COMPLETE DOLT. HE SAID THAT HE WOULD BE PUTTING UP TESTIMONIALS SOON (FAKE NO DOUBT) BUT ITS FUNNY BECAUSE THIS SITE HAS BEEN HERE A WHILE AND STILL DOESN’T HAVE ANY TESTIMONIALS.

I agree with others. I lost $250 worth of bids in the auction.Alec aka CEO gave me $100 back, and told me lagging was caused by my slow internet connection. I'am a security specialist for a major wholesaler and my office is right next to the CORE(where main fiber feeds come in for internet) and I was using a IBM server which runs 100 cpu's and has a OC3(155 Mbps dedicated internet line) connection. There is no way my internet connection is slow.. I pinged his server and found out that his using a godaddy.com shared(slow site) server plus his sript has lots of glitches in it . Definitely a clone. From my experience all I can say is he is scamming everybody. No body sells PS3's for so cheap. We being the largest the wholesaler in USA make about $8 profit on PS3 system. For those of you who are thinking that paypal's gonna back you up, then your mistaken big time. People uses phishers and steal thousands from paypal everyday. All I gotta say is save your money, if you really need a PS3 or electronics than buy it from dell.com , its 20% off. For those of you who have already paid , ask Alec aka CEO for your money and shipping fee back. His number is (623) 218-8182. All im giving above is my opinion, rest is upto you guys.
