Have you bid on penny auction site zBiddy.com?
It’s been a few months since penny auction site RockyBid.com closed without much of an explanation. Bidders report now that they still had bids left in their account and didn’t know where they went. We contacted the president and founder of RockyBid, Benjamin Grossman, back in December to to inquire about the status of the penny auction site. He told us it would be back soon.
“We have spent the last two months perfecting and testing a new site design and enhanced performance. The new Rockybid will be back at the beginning of the year. You can expect great new auctions and exciting new features. All the current Rockybid bids will be doubled as promised. We look forward to seeing you all then!!!”
Recently we found that penny auction site BidCactus had sued RockyBid for trademark infringement, the complaint alleges that RockyBid was using BidCactus’s trademark in Google advertising.
We’ve seen other sites engage in similar ad campaigns using a competitors TM as well on a regular basis.
There’s now a new penny auction site Zbiddy.com which seems to have been open for a few months now. The registrant happens to be RockyBid’s founder, Benjamin Grossman of NY.
To date, ZBiddy displays 497 ended auctions.
There are a few complaints on ComplaintsBoard and other sites regarding zBiddy charging consumers a fee of $159 that they did not know they would be charged. Many times consumers are too apt to offer credit card information & not read all of the fine print, this is probably what happened.
