Have you tried Baffol.com? Baffol is a penny auction that opened just a few weeks ago.

Baffol’s auctions have a unique, game-like look & feel to them. Special “power up” features are available at an extra cost that could change the outcome of an auction and give you a competitive edge,  even if this means increasing the auction time for your opponent. For instance, with “Headshot,” for $0.25 a user can add 30 minutes to an opposing bidders countdown time, on the other hand,  with “nitrous” you can reduce your own time by 18-36 minutes for $0.50.

Prior to opening Baffol, the Baffol.com team were looking into various ways to promote an iPhone app that they developed, they stumbled upon Swoopo and the rest was history.

We asked the team at Baffol.com a few questions to better acquaint you with their penny auctions.

What makes Baffol unique?

From what we’ve seen out there, there is no other entertainment-shopping site like ours out there. First of all, we’ve tried to make the bidding system more exciting and interactive. Instead of just continuously bidding pennies to win with the highest bid, our auction is more of a race. When you bid your time decreases. You can also purchase “power-ups” to further decrease your time or increase others’ time. The person who reaches time=0 first, or has the lowest time when the auction ends, wins the auction. Second of all, we wanted to ensure users have the most positive shopping experience possible. All the money that users put into our system and use in auctions is saved to an account. Therefore, if you do not win the auction you can use the money in that account to purchase the same item from our online store! Read about all 9 power ups on Baffol: http://www.baffol.com/Web/Items.aspx.

What kind of items do you offer?

Currently we have about 20 items in the rotation, most of the popular electronics. We’ll be auctioning off iPods, Nintendo Wii’s and DSi’s, PS3’s, digital cameras and more! When we first launch we’ll be having one auction at a time, and the next auction will begin as soon as the current auction ends.

What are the timer increments between bids/does this vary by auction?

Since our auction isn’t a traditional auction there isn’t really timer increments. Each auction will last maximum 12 hours or until the first person reaches time=0.

What are Baffol’s shipping costs?

When you win an auction there are no shipping costs to receive the item. We will have various shipping options for items that are purchased from the online store.

Are there any win limits, limits /household?

Currently there is no limit to the number of items a user can win.

Is there a story behind the name/theme?

We came up with the term “Baffol” as a play on the word “baffle” which is what competitors will be doing to each other during the auction!

Is there anything else you’d like to tell us about Baffol?

We want to ensure that all users have a great time playing “Baffol” and hopefully be able to win some great stuff. If anyone has any questions or comments regarding “Baffol” please contact us atinfo@baffol.com as we appreciate your feedback. Get ready to get BAFFOL’d!!!

Please post your review of Baffol.com in our penny auction reviews directory!
