The Wrightsville Fire & Rescue Station 41, of Wrightsville, Pennsylvania has just opened a penny auction site for the purpose of raising money to support their fire department. FireNRescueAuction.com‘s auctions start ending tomorrow with items such as helmets, flashlights, lightbars, and medical equipment. They also plan to offer household items such as flatscreen TV’s, gaming consoles, laptops, knife sharpeners, gift cards, bid packs and trolling motors.
The Wrightsville Fire Department is 100% volunteer run and even provides free training. Due to a desire to become self-sufficient, since the Wrightsville Fire Department currently receives funding from their township and borough to cover operating costs, they decided to start the penny auction site which will replace their current fundraising. With the proceeds from their penny auctions they plan to purchase a new piece of apparatus and station modifications.
