WatchWinner.com Can’t Afford to Ship All Won Items?

A PAW member recently wrote to tell us about his less than stellar experience on WatchWinner.com, a penny auction site exclusively for watches. He was told that due to the site being so new they could not yet afford to ship all of his won items.

From our forum:

“I was bidding on a new site called watchwinner.com recently. I bought a small bid pack and when the timers ran down there were bots everywhere. They had at least ten auctions going and and the bots would place bids at the exact same time on all of the auctions. All of the timers were synchronized. Example: all of the auctions would have a bid placed at 9 seconds, then on the next count down every auction would have a bid placed at 7 seconds etc. I thought for sure I was going to lose all of my bids to the bots. Surprisingly I won 4 auctions and when there was one item left the bots were unbeatable. I don’t know if they let me win the four items or if there was a flaw in the bot script. After paying for the 4 wins they sent me this email. I feel guilty for not posting this sooner, I was hoping to at least get the 2 of the wins shipped and figured everyone here knew about the bots from first hand experience or from reading the thread in the new penny auction section.

They have no money to cover the first items auctioned off?

Note where they say “Please note that this watch is similar to the GMT World Traveler Chronograph, but with a different colored face.” There is a major price difference, not just a different color face.

WatchWinner posted on our forum that due to their privacy policy they will not respond to customer concerns on the forum.

Though the bidder states his opinion of the site having bots we cannot confirm whether or not they use them, hope not. Have you bid on WatchWinner? Please tell us about your experiences!
