The popular RPG style virtual world/social network that is GaiaOnline.com has just added a penny auction to their vast offering of virtual products.
In case you’re not familiar with Gaia: GaiaOnline started 2003 as a RPG style forum that now allows members, predominantly teen & pre-teens, to set virtual avatars, customize a virtual car and house, travel in the Gaia Town and play games like Tetris and Gaia Slots.
Along with Gaia’s virtual avatar comes the virtual currency Gaia cash that allows members to obtain clothes and accessories for their avatar to stand out among the millions of other Gaia users.
Gaia’s penny auction is called Bid Blast and allows members to virtually “purchase” bid tickets with points and bid on avatar customization items like angel wings, and an elegant white coat.
Each bid costs 1 Gaia ticket and the auction price is increased by 1 Gaia gold with each bid and 30 seconds per bid.
What has the Bid Blast response been?
