New Penny Auction Launches: BidPit.com & BidGal.com

Penny Auction Site BidPit.comTwo new penny auction sites have just opened, actually two different brands that as of yet are offering the same items:

BidPit.com and a ladies luxury branded penny auction site BidGal.com.

BidPit.com states to be governed by the laws of the State of California and in the sites terms claims to be an LLC, BidPit.com LLC, while unable to find a record of the limited liability corporation registration with the California Secretary of State and the site does not post any information about who owns and operates this new penny auction business, we have just sent an e-mail to BidPit to find out more for you. Currently the whois registrant information is privately registered by Domains by Proxy, LLC. BidPit.com is a verified Authorize.NET merchant.

Both BidPit and BidGal offer regular penny auctions and provide the option for members to list their own items up for sale under their “user auctions” category.

Above the BidPit logo are the words “patent pending,” could this new site be trying to patent penny auctions? Absurd of them do be trying to do this since penny auctions have been around for a few years now, dating back to 2008 in the USA when Telebid became Swoopo and launched stateside.

Here is a video about BidPit/BidGal:

BidPit/BidGal’s User Penny Auctions:

The BidPit and BidGal.com penny auction sites allow consumers to post their own items up for sale for “free,” and will receive the final auction end price, but a % of the auction bid proceeds:

Seller Level Qualification Revenue Sharing
Level 1 1 to 9 Completed Auctions 40%
Level 2 After 10 Completed Auctions 50%
Level 3 After 30 Completed Auctions 60%
Level 4 After 60 Completed Auctions 70%

So far there are 2 items in the user listed penny auction category: A “Botox Alternative – Cellu-Tox” (Now that’s a first on a penny auction) and an electronic game “Radica 20 Questions.”

Items that have already ended that were offered by the penny auction itself include $50 gift cards to department stores like Nordstroms and Macys,  Bobbi Brown cosmetics, a Yamaha electric keyboard, Jimmy Choo perfume, an Apple iPod Nano, the new iPad Mini Apple’s Magic Mouse and an Asus Eee PC netbook.

BidPit markets themselves by comparing the penny auction site to major deal retailers like Groupon, eBay, LivingSocial, and Google Offers by stating to be better, offering “High end services & brand new high value products ULTRA luxury products.”

Bids on BidPit are sold in 2 different packages: 8 bids for $5 or 86 for $50, so $0.58 each bid.

On BidPit’s homepage is a slider depicting a Bora Bora vacation, a new Fiat automobile and motorcycles, Save 95% on an Arizona vacation and SuperBowl tickets. Perhaps these will be upcoming penny auction items on BidPit? We’ll see.

We’re interested in finding out whether or not these new penny auction sites: BidPit/BidGal.com are legit penny auctions. If you have bid on either site please tell us in our comments section at the end of this article and also join our penny auction forum and discuss this and all penny auction sites.

Plain HORRIBLE – no other words to say it. I have just had it with this website – auctions just dont end, EVER! Takes 2-3 months for people to win $5 subway gift cards lol. Their pitstop auctions are just too suspicious and shady because of their ridiculous format. The start time of the pitstop auctions hidden. The auction clock is also hidden – the auctions can end at ANY TIME or in other words, as and when the website pleases. The reserve price ALSO is hidden, which means they can abruptly end the auction at ANY TIME ANY PRICE they want. Folks, THIS IS A SCAM. Stay miles away from it… I have already lost a lot of money on it.
