Based in India, the new entertainment shopping auction BidBugs promises free “bites,” their version of bids, by way of referrals, daily login, random allotment, and social networking promotion. BidBugs may appeal to penny auction bidders, but it is not like a traditional penny auction. To win items on BidBugs a user must have the most amount of bites on an item. BidBugs tells us that they have offices in India, London and Chicago.
BidBugs has a few popular electronics items, but to be eligible to win a user must place a minimum number of bites and more bites than the leading “biter.”

In order to win an upcoming PlayStation 3 console, a user must place more bids than the leading biter, who has currently placed 1,250 bites.
Here’s a video from BidBugs explaining how it works:
If you do decide to register on BidBugs keep in mind that you may want to opt out of sharing data with partners, that is if you don’t want spam to bite you.
What do you think of BidBugs? Have you tried them?
