Just the other day we told you about penny auctions that are donating to charity, here’s the details for BidCactus’ charity auction:

“Many people are struggling with hunger this year. How can you help? Look for the special 75 Bidpack auctions that say “Food Bank Donation.” For every person that participates in the auction, BidCactus will donate $1 to Feeding America, a leading charity that provides food to America’s hungry in all 50 states. Every dollar helps provide about nine pounds of food and grocery products to hungry men, women and children.”

That's great!! It's about time they do something constructive with all the money they're double and triple charging for customers for shipping when they decide to combine shipping for multiple items into a single package once a week and keep the excess that was paid by the customer for individual shipping on each item as profit (while most other penny auction sites offer FREE shipping).

Seriously, though. I just paid $20.70 for shipping for four gift cards that will all be put into one $5.00 envelope this coming Wednesday and shipped to my door. But at least now I feel better about part of the the $15.70 I overpaid going to a good cause rather than being pocketed to offset the auction costs…
