For10Cents Gets an F

For10cents.com, the very same penny auction site that appeared to have left shill comments on the Penny Auction Watch forum,   resulting in our terminating their ability to advertise with us gets an F from the Better Business Bureau of Chicago.

From  BBB.org:

“BBB Rating for For10cents.com

Based on BBB files, For10cents.com has a BBB Rating of F on a scale from A+ to F.

Reasons for this rating include:

  • Failure to respond to 4 complaints filed against business.
  • BBB does not have sufficient information to determine how long this business has been operating.
  • BBB does not have sufficient background information on this business.”

Especially of interest is the fact that the penny auction For10Cents.com made the false claim that they were in good standing with the Better Business Bureau when they indeed were not, sadly this does not surprise us based on our previous experience with For10Cents.

“Advertising Review

For10cents.com is a Non Accredited Business that is currently displaying the claim “good standing with the Better Business Bureau” on website.

The use of this trademark without permission is a violation of the trademark rights of the Council of BBB, Inc. This mark is licensed only to Accredited Businesses that have agreed to certain practices and to resolve disputes through a formal process, if necessary.

The business was sent two letters on September 9, 2009 and September 18 2009 requesting that the business immediately cease claiming or implying in any way that For10cents.com is an Accredited Business by removing the claim from website.

On September 26, 2009 after not responding to both letters and numerous phone calls the business was referred to council.”

A big thank you goes out to the PAW reader who brought this information to our attention. She has had a very bad experiences with For10Cents, and urges readers to post their feedback on them:

“I was totally scammed by this site. I was bidding on an auction and all of a sudden, 5 more hours were added to it when it was supposed to be over! So basically, I was competing against two other people and it was looking like I had a great chance to win and then all of a sudden the whole thing started over and a whole bunch of people jumped in on the auction! Also, I had an autobid set up and when the auction “re-started” (they never really end by the way), none of my autobids were used at all so basically, I spent money to bid and the site was not bidding for me at all! I contacted them for a refund, which of course they denied, I am currently trying to obtain a refund through paypal and I have reported them to the Better Business Bureau. This company takes all your money and gives you nothing in return. The site is not run properly, not even according to their own statements on their site of how it should be run. Whatever you do, do NOT listen to any positive comments left about them, they are all planted by people who work for them, just do a little research and you’ll find the same thing I have. If they do not issue my refund, I plan to call my local news station. If anyone else is having similar issues, I hope to hear from you.”

As always, please feel free to post your comments here and join our forum to share your experiences with and reviews for for10cents and all other pay-per-bid, penny auctions.

That’s why online pharmacies is becoming more pop over the last years. Well-known are remedies which are used to reduce inflammation caused by inflammation of the skeletal muscle etc. There were only few examples. Did somebody tell you about canadian generic Viagra? Maybe you along know about the problem. Sexual disfunction can be a result of a physical condition. Even when it has a physical reason, psychological problems can make the disorder worse. Sex drive problems are so commonly a product of how you feel that there is some to that “headache” saying after all.

I still see ads here from for10cents as well as for bidhere – I suppose they are google keyword ads but the for10cents ad I just saw was on a banner. I don’t know if you make a lot off the google keyword ads but to me, it looks bad to see ads for these sites on a watchdog site. A lot of new people coming here don’t know the history with these sites and won’t ever bother to read back or even read at all and they’ll see the ad and think it must be okay or it wouldn’t be advertised on PAW.

Funny you brought this up today as I also realized this today and think I need to make an exception w/ Google ads for a few sites, if that is possible. I'll see. I do have a disclaimer saying ads by google do not signify an endorsement-but I do see that as a possible problem. Thanks

for10cents.com may not be a scam but my experience sure makes it look that way. Bidding on a IPad it was down to me and tinycutie. This person had been bidding for over 3 hours before in came in. While watching for the first three hours I went to several other auctions and there was tinycutie. All these other auctions were big ticket items. Laptops, TVs etc.. Tinycutie had been on autobid for these other items for several hours as well. Either tinycutie has unlimited funds or is a for10cents.com shill. Needless to say I did not win my bid as I exhausted my bids. And by the way while the name implies 10 cent bids most items require multiple bids for each bid you make. The item will say BID X6 meaning you are actually using six bids or 60 cents. To further my doubts of this beeing a legitimate site I have returned many times to watch high ticket items and low and behold there is tinycutie bidding away at multiple items at the same time with autobid. If you must use penny auctions try others. I won't name any as I don't want you to think I am working for them but, I have used others and had fun and good success.

My heart is sinking. I was a bout to win a laptop and the computer told me I did not “qualify” to win any more prizes. I had won three prizes, you are allowed four. Of course, the laptop was worth the most by far.
But what really gets me are the 2000 plus bids that are on other items on that site! Of course there is no phone and they have not answered my emails. Doesn’t look good.

I won an iPod on October 4, and despite numerous promises, I still have not received my won auction. Has this happened to anyone else?
