Jeeler.com is going to be auctioning an iPad! Jeeler just opened, read our interview with Jeeler’s team to learn more about this new penny auction.

What got you interested in the entertainment shopping industry?

Well a good friend of mine came across a Penny Auction site after seeing a commercial.  Once he visited the site, he soon realized what he didn’t like about it.  He came to me with lots of ideas to make the Penny Auction scene better for everyone.  So we began building our core values to suit the consumers, as we were before.

How long has Jeeler.com been open?

We open on May 1^st, 2010, though we are going to have many Early Bird Auctions in April so that everyone can try out our site. I suppose that means we are technically open right now and have been since April 1st.

^{What kind of items do you have lined up? Do your auctions run on a schedule?}

We plan to have all the items people seem to crave; hdtvs, wii’s, ps3’s, ipods/ipads, gift cards, and all of that.  We will also delve deeper and attempt to expand into other categories that others haven’t touched.  We will be starting with WoW Time Cards (60 Days), WoW Wireless Headset, True Blood HBO Series, and a New Moon Package DVD Deal along with some basic items.  We will probably not being selling too many, if any, items during the middle of the night.  We will see.

What are the timer increments between bids and does this vary by auction?

Right now, our increments are in days, ha-ha.  That is only because April is our Preview month where people can come on, register and bid on only a few items.  I would say we will probably have about 10-15 items on auction in April.  In May, we look to have an Auction at least every hour.

How much are your bids?

Our bids are $0.50 per bid for every package we offer.  On May 8^th we look to expand to a more traditional bid package, where the bids start higher and get cheaper the more you buy.  If $0.50 works out good, we may just keep it.

What are your shipping costs? How long does it usually take for users to receive their items?

Shipping for any item on our site is free, no matter if it’s a HDTV or a Gift Card.  Items will arrive no later than 14 days from the day the item is paid for.

What states/countries are you open to?

We are currently open only to the US, but we look to expand as our company grows.

What is your policy for bid refunds?

We offer a full refund for any items purchased with bids.  However, the case of bid refunds we will leave to our good business sense.  If someone feels they were wronged by us or is otherwise dissatisfied, we will consider it and decide what the best option is.

Are there any win limits, limits /household?

There are currently no win limits.  However, we do limit accounts to 1 per household so that we are not taken advantage of by offering free bids at signup.

Is there a story behind the name/theme?

Well we came across the name Jeeler, and as odd as it seemed, we liked it for its rarity and decided it would work.  We wanted to stay away from names that played off “bid” and go with something more unique.  We since created our mascot, a cat named Jeeler, that in located on the top of the page.  He is there to smile and welcome our new members.  He will soon be animated when we get some free time.

Is there anything else that you would like to tell Penny Auction Watch readers?

I would just like to say that we have had a lot of fun putting this site together and we hope everyone appreciates it.  Our site is trying to reach out and grab a broader audience.  We want to offer things the public wants and sell it to them at a bargain price.   That is why I love our slogan: “Online Auctions, 90-99% off Guaranteed!”  Since we offer items at 10% retail and run our Auctions where the price drops a penny with every bid, we can stand by it 100%.  We couldn’t be prouder!
