What’s Up with BidCity.com?

UPDATE: Looks like at the time of this posting they had a few kinks to work out but BidCity seems to be running smoothly now and PAW members have received items! Discuss BidCity in our forum. Thanks!

New penny auction BidCity.com opened this week, and so far they leave a lot to be desired. Many Penny Auction Watch forum members, and one of our penny auction site testers have reported timer problems and have seen auctions instantly end with no time added to the countdowns. Our site tester was able to win a $10 gift card, as they promise “When you first join BidCity.com we guarantee you win your first prize in a beginners auction!” Now that seems odd, why would they guarantee that new members would win their first prize in a beginner’s auction?

Take a look at BidCity’s About Us page, they seem to be trying very hard to assure us that they are legit yet they have not answered many customer service requests from many of our members.

“All support email and calls will be answered Mon- Fri. 9-5 PM EST excluding holidays.

BidCity.com is a website created by internet professionals who used to like to bid on “Penny Auctions” in their free time. We probably used these web sites just like you do, on our lunch break at work, between clients, sometimes between phone calls, and definelty at home and on the week ends.

We were sick and tired of waiting 6 weeks for our “Prizes” to finally be delivered. Trying to reach these auction sites by phone is like pulling teeth from someone with NO TEETH! Maybe its becasue they just dont care what their users have to say! We questioned whether these web sites that we loved so much were actually real, and have many times seen auctions miraculously bid over and over like someone hooked a computer program up to make sure we lost! I am sure you have all heard the rumors. Immoral owners setting up their friends with gazillions of bids so auctions are not won by real- hard working individuals who try to honestly win their auctions.

We’ve seen the best intentioned web sites rake in the money without assuring the users that there really are people at work at this website and there really is an office with people working to make the users experience more positive and fair. Many of the penny auctions come and go! The ones that stay- just seem to take yopur money and then drop off the face of the earth! Our guess is most of the owners of these sites have their office in the basement of their mothers house and have to go back to school before first period starts.

At BidCity.com we have spent thousands upon thousands of dollars preparing our website. We have more products in our storage rooms that most auction sites deliver in a month. We are opening our doors prepared to give away products all day long whether they sell for 3 cents or $300.00. We guarantee that you will win. Our beginners auctions are designed for you to play and win. When you first join BidCity.com we guarantee you win your first prize in a beginners auction! We also send your first prize (a gift card worth $10 or more from your favorite restaurants and stores) and we only charge you one dollar for shipping on your first auction. BiDCity cares. This is how we would have liked to have been treated.

Our customer support will really answer your email and calls.

Our auctions will give you value and a fair channce at winning.

You can speak to us if you have any questions or concens.

Please enjoy yourself at BidCity.com “Where Pennies Become Prizes” and you are guaranteed to win!”

At this point we give them a thumbs down and may soon move them to the Red Flags Section. Check out our thread on BidCity in the forum and please discuss your experiences there!

That’s why online pharmacies is becoming more popular over the last years. Well-known are remedies which are used to reduce inflammation caused by inflammation of the skeletal muscle etc. There were only few examples. Did somebody tell you about canadian generic Viagra? Maybe you yet know about the matter. Sexual dysfunction can be a result of a physical condition. Even when it has a physical cause, psychological problems can make the disorder worse. Sex drive problems are so commonly a product of how you feel that there is slightly to that “headache” saying after all.

My experience with bid city is as follows…

I won a gift card for just a few cents. After it said I won nothing happened for a little while. No emails from them, nothing stating what to do next. It's a good thing I left the screen open because it finally took me to a page to pay for the item. Ended up costing me nearly $7.00, which I'm assuming most of which is for shipping/processing, because my item only cost a few cents. Kind of outrageous. I paid it because it's still a great deal. It's now the next morning and I still haven't received any kind of email from them stating thanks for paying, or congratulations on winning, or we'll be sending out your item shortly. I even contacted them about an issue yesterday and have yet to get a response.

I was also watching some auctions last night. New auctions would appear and the timer would start, then they would just disappear. One auction started up with a Pink Ipod Nano, but when I looked again later it had been switched to a Silver Ipod Nano. I was watching some other auctions and at one point the names of everyone bidding started with a "D", then it went to all single usernamed people like charlie, etc, where none of the first letters of the usernames were capitalized. Seems fishy, and it may be nothing…maybe I'm just trying to see something that isn't there.

Finally, there's an auction now for a TGIFridays gift card and a 25 bid pack. It says there is a $2.99 processing fee, then later in the description it says there is a $1.99 processing fee. Which is it I wonder? I was going to bid on it, but now I'm not so sure. These people really need to get things straightened out!!!

i did win a beginner auction $10 applebees gift card for 4 bids the person i fought won the auction before this one so i don’t no how they were able to bid on this one. Wrote them an email about and had no response yet or bids back since the person i fought shouldn’t even been involved but the bids i had were free anyway and all i had to pay was the final price of the auction which was 7cents. May try this site again but i will at least wait until i get my gift card.

My experience with them has been all crazy! I started winning and was SO EXCITED! But then I got a message on the "bid" buttons that said "Win Limit Reached". ?? When I asked support, they told me the limit was 3 per day (12 hours in between last win and next opportunity to bid). Then there's a limit of 8 per week. When asked what a week was, they said they'd have to check but probably 3 days from the last win. ??? I understand limits, but I've noticed that not everyone on the site has the same limit. I'll watch and see certain user names win well over 5 in one day! So if they are picking and choosing who gets what limits, isn't that wrong?
