Penny auctions were just mentioned in Time Magazine (Online & in Vol. 175 No. 25)! In Losing Your Cents, the brilliant Belinda Luscombe tells of her battle against bidders Mario0717 and Walker2197, hoping to win an Ionic Air Purifier on penny auction QuiBids.com. She advises against bidding on penny auctions and calls them heroin for bargain shoppers. It’s true, if you don’t exercise caution penny auction bidding can become an addicting habit.

If you decide to bid you should first get informed (join our penny auction forum!), and don’t forget to watch your spending.

A Few Drawbacks to Penny Auction Bidding:

  • Bidding can become very addictive
  • Users won’t always win
  • Some penny auction sites are, unfortunately, less-than-ethical and resort to shill bidding, either by way of  automated bidding scripts (we call them bots). Also, some sites don’t let real bidders win and never ship items out. We’ve documented instances of this too many times here on Penny Auction Watch.
  • A house full of stuff…(if you’re lucky enough, if you’d call that lucky ;) !)

In Honor of the Time Article We’re Giving Away a $25 Olive Garden Gift Card!

Sure, we are a Penny Auction Site, of course that is always trying to invent new ways of giving members what they want. We enjoy doing our job. We are always trying new ways to satisfy our members. We love giving away free shots at redemption to win! We are a small Penny Auction site, and I believe that we have the potential to grow to be a bigger one. Penny Auctions are new to us, and it is definitely an exciting business to be in. There is always something new to learn everyday, like how the penny auction industry itself operates. We have dealt with all sorts or reviews out there, and frankly all we focus on are the positives. If you worry to much about what the negatives are that people say about you, then you will never get anything done. And trust me, people have gotten the wrong impression about CherryBids.com. We believe in “the only way you look down on a person, is when you are helping them up”. So, we pretty much just shake off the negative vibes out there and press on. That is all you can do. We would prefer people to come to our site and see for themselves. I love it when I send people prizes that they have won. For some reason, I like sending Gift Cards, because a Gift Card can buy things like Food, gas, school supplies, and maybe help you out in getting a particular item that you want. That is what I have learned in this business, that there are rewards to running a site like this. My Business partner and I can not wait until we are bigger than we are so we can do more!
